it could transpire that Rooney will be 4th or 5th choice for England in the summer. With Kane, Vardy, Sturridge and Welbeck all there as well, then unless Rooney gets fit and finds some **** hot form, then he could end up being a sub.

As for Sturridge, for me he should only play for England if he is 120% fit. So if he feels any sort of twinge, tweak or strain, then he owes it to us to put up his hand and say "sorry....not for me". If he comes back from england duty and can't do whatever fitness work or training that is asked for him by LFC over the next 4 weeks, then he deserves a full force Jurgen Klopp slap across his face.

Sturridge having to work himself into the England starting lineup might be a good thing for us, we need to start some fire in his belly, this could help.

I don't want him to go - we will not bring in a player with his strike record.

Agreed, sort of feel it's down to what he wants to do though.

I think so too, if he wants to go he'll go, I'd prefer him to stay but I wouldn't pull out all the stops to keep him, would only do that if we had another Suarez somewhere.

I think Klopp has been pretty open about his philosophy around players. They work from season to season with him and sometimes they want to go & sometimes he might want to move them on. I don't think we'll be actively looking to move him on however if he decides he doesn't want to play ball I can't see us putting up too much of a fight as long as we receive the right price.

In an ideal world he'll get a full pre-season under Klopp and be with us next season, someone of his quality is going to be very hard to replace.

Let's hope he stays fit for us, having a decent finisher ahead of Gotze, Coutinho and Firmino would be pretty good

Has he indicated that he wants to leave?

No, there was the paper gossip some weeks ago, and the chatter on here, I'm not insinuating anything, at least that was not the intent.

Playing well within in himself. Wonder if he's in the final months if his career with us.

He's still not match fit that is clear, he doesn't look happy playing at the moment either. I think it would be harsh if we moved him on based on the performances this season. I think we need to keep him for next season and let Klopp judge him when he has his fitness and sharpness back.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                              He was fine I thought.

He's not on form but he was still good.

Still working his way up to full sharpness but showed his quality.

Down on pace though, not sure if that's mental or physical.
