We'll have to disagree mateOriginally posted by Jaymo View PostI disagree.
Look at the reaction of his arm after he hits the ball. Now either the ball turns into a medicine ball for a brief second and therefore the sheer velocity nearly rips his arm off, or he's pulled it away..
His arm was already up there when the ball hits it.

Just for the record, I thought the freekick should have been given as its not one of those where his arm is by his side and it hits it.
I think he's bound to pull his arm away but that without his hand being at chest height it couldn't have been a goal and in the replay from behind the goal his hand moves towards the ball. I'm not having a go at him about it though, every other footballer would've reacted in the same way.

Not again, Luis! Liverpool striker Suarez gets away with brazen handball to score second at Mansfield... and it's not his first
By Graeme Yorke
Luis Suarez added another blot to his copybook as he handled the ball for his goal as Liverpool beat Mansfield 2-1 in the FA Cup third round.
The Liverpool striker has a history of being involved in controversial incidents, including a reputation for diving, a ban for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and another for biting an opponent when with Ajax.
Suarez knocked the ball past Mansfield goalkeeper Alan Marriott with his hand, after his initial shot was blocked. With the goalkeeper on the floor Suarez tapped home, causing the hosts to complain furiously to the referee.
Reds defender Jamie Carragher did not believe the Uruguayan committed the offence on purpose. Carragher told ESPN: 'It was at the other end so I didn't really see it but it seemed that he just got a deflection and it bounced off him and went in. These things happen. We needed the goal in the end. 'It just looked like it ricocheted off a few different people and luckily for us it came up for us and went in.' Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said he did not blame the striker for the incident but admitted it was handball. He said: 'I've just seen it again and there's no doubt it was handball but the referee and the officials ruled it wasn't deliberate. 'I spoke to the fourth official when it was given because I couldn't see and he said it was (handball) so I can only assume they thought it wasn't deliberate. 'So obviously it was unfortunate for Mansfield and lucky for us that we got the goal. It was a really professional performance.'
Rodgers rejected the possibility of Suarez owning up to the handball to the referee, though, adding: 'It's not Luis' job to do that. It's not been deliberate as it's pushed up and hit his hand. It's up to the officials to decide that. 'That's why they get paid as officials and I thought Andre Marriner was brilliant today. 'Maybe when you lose the game you look back on it and think it was unfortunate. 'We missed many more chances to put the game to bed, so we got a wee bit of luck there so it's something we'll take and move on.'
Mansfield manager Paul Cox refused to criticise Suarez over the handball, admitting if the same thing had happened at the other end of the pitch they would have accepted it. Asked if he felt it was cheating or an instinctive reaction from the Liverpool striker, Cox told ESPN: 'I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt and say it was a reaction, he's a goalscorer and I think goalscorers put the ball in the net anyway. 'He's a great fabulous talent, I'd go pay to watch him week in and week out. He's a wonderful player.' Cox also insisted he did not feel cheated, saying: 'No I don't. For me to come out and say something like that I think would be quite cheap. 'If it had gone in the other end and one of our players had done it I think we'd have accepted it. This is the FA Cup, this is the beauty of it, sometimes it goes for you, sometimes it doesn't. 'It's a beautiful game and for me he's a fabulous talent and for this country we're lucky to have him here. I don't think we should call him for doing something that I think 99 out of 100 players would do.'
After scoring, amidst furious protests from the Mansfield players, Suarez performed his trademark celebration, calmly kissing the tattoo on the inside of his wrist. He does do this after scoring every goal, of course. Matt Green set up a grand-stand finish for the Non-League hosts after netting in the 79th minute, but they could not muster a successful comeback. Back in 2010, the Uruguayan striker was infamously red-carded for deliberately palming the ball off the line during a World Cup quarter-final against Ghana, which ultimately helped his side progress to the semis.
The article is the type of crap you'd usually expect from the mail but the bit in bold is interestingLast edited by Exiled_red; 06-01-13, 09:40 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
