You just know that if this happened to any other striker in the league they would have been dubbed "opportunist" or "made their own luck"

A hard-luck story for Mansfield who were much improved in that second half but will be deprived of a trip to glamorous Oldham in the fourth round after evil incarante Luis Suarez appeared to deliberately handle before scoring his side's crucial second goal. Cards on the digital table: I do not know if Suarez meant to handle it. The replays I've seen suggest a slight movement of his hand towards the ball when he saw the shot rebounding off Marriott but only he knows if he was actively trying to cheat. In any case it leaves a slightly rotten taste to proceedings, especially given that it may well have ended in a replay had the goal not stood. Oh well. That'll be all from this liveblog. Thanks for your company, I'll talk to you again soon.

      ****ing hell HAHAHAHAHA
      WTF ??

Even in a sarcastic manner, what respectable 'journalist' could write that ?

I thought he was poor - out-muscled by their striker on many occasions...

Had it have been rooney or van persie. It would have been a sweet right hand

Don't think we need to say anymore than that.

So next time a player handles in the box and a pen is not given he should own up?

Just asked Moose from Talksport, would he be so outraged if the same thing happened with a West Ham player to win against Utd yesterday interesting to see if he responds

Coates needs to go out on loan to another prem club to get use to english football. The lad can be a quality player but needs games. I'd loan him out for a seaon and a half.

and who knows if that goal had been disallowed we might have gone onto win 6-0.the only fact is we won 2-1.

People wonder why the manager doesnt play him but he's never had 1 good game for us in a back 4

Luis said as much a few weeks back during his PR stint, in that how when a player pulls down an attacker in a last ditch attempt to prevent a goal, is that seen as 'brave and committed' when all it is is cheating ?

.....paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it when confronted about his handball in the World Cup.

The biggest problem for Coates is playing alongside Carragher everytime he plays. He would look a lot better alongside Agger or Skrtel

Coates is a strange one, he seems to get by on "he has so much potential" and "well, he was the best young player in the Copa America..."

From what I've seen in pretty much every game, he looks a bit cumbersome with an erratic first touch. He's not very quick either.

Can't help but think that the aforementioned quotes are buying him time. Remember, Babb was the best defender in the 94 World Cup....
