Let's face it, they're a better side than us. We've put up a fight in the second half but the result was probably a fair one overall because we really weren't anywhere near them in the first half. Still a work in progress but some positive signs, Sturridge in particular. Allen is ****e though.

Impressed with the second half. Like what I saw in Sturridge. I can see why people will be frustrated by him at times but he's a big threat.
Rodgers again making mistakes with his line-up and substituitions. He's got to start getting this right on a consistent basis. I really feel Allen will be his achilles heel as I said in the match thread.

Agreed with all of that, I think our weakness is midfield especially Allen. Sturridge brings additional quality to the attack to help take pressure off Suarez but we need good midfield play to support them.
Awful first half, good second half. Positives to take from it particularly Sturridge but ultimately as has been the case so often this season no points
I liked the look of Suarez and Sturridge together, that seemed to give us much more options going forward
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
If this was intended to be a "barometer" of our progress then I think it about sums it up. We started poorly, very poorly indeed, but the second half we were far and away the better side. For all his shortcomings in the first half, Allen wasn't nearly as bad in the second. Everyone put in a better shift and Sturridge made all the difference. Hope we see that from him consistently!
Honestly, it could have been way worse going to Old Trafford. Could've been really embarrassing but this loss was much easier to swallow than the loss of the reverse fixture. Comparatively, I don't feel like I never want to watch a game of football again, so that's always a plus.
