Barca have put a valuation on Coutinho, and my thinking would be to see if any club other than Barca want to meet that valuation either through player sales or a straight bid.

We "buy" Draxler and Veratti for say £40m and £80m and they "buy" Coutinho for £120m.

or the same with your scenario.

Anyone bar Barca for me unless they want to send Suarez and a big wedge of cash upfront our way.

Wasn't it rumoured that Leipzig were not happy with the upfront amount offered for Keita? Suspect that the Keita deal may hinge on a large up front sum from Barcelona to make things proper move along

And ………….. I doubt RBL would sanction a player to move to a team in the CL (them) to one that was not in the CL. What kind of statement would that make? …………. so I still maintain things will get a little more interesting on Friday if we get past Hoffenheim.

Is this hypocritical given how steadfast Klopp has been about Sakho? Is it just a case of Coutinho being a better and more critical player for us? Seems it. Not that I care. Get him back in the side asap.

Aye Mebbe. Depends how you interpret the whole "club's decision not mine" thing. Also if he thinks Sakho was a bad apple.

If I were a teammate I'd be royally ****ed off with him for a) putting himself first and therefore putting the club and me in a difficult situation, knowing we've been struggling to bring players in and b) faking an injury which is again harming the team - especially given how important these CL qualifiers, how hard we all worked as a team to get there.

So I'd be worried about the impact this may have on the dressing room but in football these things tend to get forgotten and ultimately it's to everyone's advantage to get him back at his top level.

I hope he stays and I hope we bring someone else in who will put a smile on his face.

Klopp to Brazilian journalist on Coutinho bid : "I think tomorrow they will offer a McDonald's Happy Meal and we get the toy as well!?"

If their pitiful "deadline" is serious then it'd be a good week for him to wind his neck in and get over it. Help us qualify for the CL ****ting Hoffenheim, beat Arsenal, get a couple in and everyones happy.

If he does stay I fully expect him to be binned for a month or so.

I'm not sure it is so hypocritical though as apparently Sakho is terrible during training disrupting the group. Phil has just been a cunt over a move. Not ideal but there is a distinct difference.

Both would improve the first team as well so it's not just because Phil is a match winner. IMO anyway but football is full hypocrisy sure.

There is absolutely no chance he'll feature for those games.

Coutinho disrupted the group too by handing in a transfer request the day before the season begun, and then by going on strike for the past three games through his so called injury.

Am sure there are players who are none too happy with his actions and as such it impacts on the group as a whole in a negative manner, not to mention Klopp having to listen the same same quations over and over about him from the media.

I really don't see what he has done as being better than what Sakho did tbh. If anything an arguement could be made for him being more calculated in his actions.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I bet Phil really thought he was going to get his big move and he clearly didn't give a **** about the club and the implications of what he has been doing. He has disrupted the squad and his saga has been looming over us for far too long. I'm sure I will forget about what he has done if he comes back and puts the head down but he has been a proper cunt about it no doubts.

The sooner the better the whole debacle is put to bed... We need this chaps league and having Coutinho in that starting line up VS Hoff would have improved out chances.

I can't really argue otherwise to be honest. The players seem to want him back from what they've said to the press though. That is why I reckon he'll be training on his own for a month if he does end up staying. He'll need to be integrated back slowly I think.
