It's also the only job in the world where you have to give 4 years notice to accept a better paid job at a different company.Originally posted by Alex View PostFootballer must be the only job in the world where you can down tools and act like a cunt for a big pay rise.
Not that I'm saying he's right, but comparing it to normal jobs doesn't scan.

Already in the Brazil squad & if he’s already signed for Barca Wong wanna risk injury.Originally posted by Alex View PostHe hasnt done that since the summer. World Cup year will motivate, so will the desire that most elite sportsmen have, winning.
That happens at board / exec level too.Originally posted by PTP View PostOr **** up/under peform get sacked and get millions in a pay out

Sadly, non-compete clauses are in effect in all areas of business these days, including for low-wage employees. Can't see how they are much different, except that when someone leaves their job, they can't get another one at all without being sued by their former employer.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostIt's also the only job in the world where you have to give 4 years notice to accept a better paid job at a different company.

Normal jobs also dont involve playing Football for a living, so there are other places it also doesnt stack up.
*Except Michael, who died.

Because he's been tapped up (again)Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostWhy would he go on strike if there has been no bid?
Like has been mentioned, Barcelona need to meet our asking price, which like Southampton's did with us should have risen due to their behaviour. £180m or **** off.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If we are going to do a deal now if needs to be on a similar basis to what we did when we sold Torres, tell Barcelona we want however much it costs for us to get Lemar this window (if he is who we see as a replacement) plus x million otherwise no deal.
Personally I still wouldn't be happy with this but we are being backed into a corner and I would imagine this leaves us with 3 options, option 1 is the above, option 2 is to try and pacify everyone by agreeing a deal for the summer, option 3 is we play hardball and report Barcelona for tapping him up, they get a transfer ban and Coutinho gets pissed about not getting his dream move.Last edited by Exiled_red; 02-01-18, 03:00 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm sure he has been complicit, but if they haven't been given permission from LFC then he's been tapped up.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostTapped up tends to ake it sound like he has no involvement or free will. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No, I wouldn't sell him. He will be very important for us between now and the end of the season. If a deal is to be agreed it needs to be similar to the Keita deal, whereby we agree a fee now, for him to leave at the end of the season.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostSell the wee rat
In terms of replacement, he's not been linked, but I'd be looking to snap up, Nabil Fekir. I didn't think he'd come back to the same level before his injury but my gosh he's come back even stronger and better. That left foot of his, is pure magic.
