The extent to which all this can be stomached or not now depends entirely on the business we do between now and the end of the month. Failures in that regard open Klopp and the owners up to accusations of **** planning, low ambition and profiteering. I have a bad feeling given our track record, and if I see any PR guff from our usual rent-a-quotes like Mig and Lallana about "x and y (probably Clyne and Ings) being like new signings" I'll puke, but as always, let's wait and see.

And all of that would entirely depend on the results we achieve in such circumstances. If we improve in last seasons position then **** planning, low ambition and profiteering won't really come into it.Originally posted by breffniboy View PostThe extent to which all this can be stomached or not now depends entirely on the business we do between now and the end of the month. To force a move through mid season, when we're still in the champions league and fighting for 2nd spittoon the league shows his true colours.
**** off Phil. I don't care how good you are, you'll always be a rat **** for abandoning your team half way through a season."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Surprisingly not as arsed about this as I thought .. or perhaps I have been through it too many times already. Brilliant player but very replacable in my mind and **** it untill we start winning things ... we will continue to lose playersAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

True in the more long term possibly but if we, say, get turned over by City or likewise or don't invest much or any of the war-chest, then there will be a pretty understandable growth in negative sentiment to put it euphemistically. It's questionable too if improving our league position is possible without proper investment or, more likely, re-investment, after losing such a key player and beyond there you have to ask if mere league finishing position should be the extent of our ambition anyway. But that's a separate issue, somewhat.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostAnd all of that would entirely depend on the results we achieve in such circumstances. That said, a lot of this is moot/speculative until things play out fully. You'd have to believe that if Phil was let go at this really unintuitive point of the season that surely something is lined up transfers-wise. Especially now with additional money in the kitty which means new players can come and FSG are financially insulated from having to invest as opposed to funding from sales. The good thing is we have a canny enough man at the tiller in Klopp, so wherever it comes from or how much, we should get decent bodies in. The nagging doubt is always the trust issue with Fsg, but again, let's see what they come up with.

Nothing wrong with that. Infact, the £105m will most likely be paid in installments over a number of years, it'll probably be more than two years before the whole of the money. That is how transfer fees are generally paid.Originally posted by labourRed View PostOK, so if Barcelona don't win the CL in the next two years, excluding this one presumably then it's £130m, not £140m. And we may have to wait two years for the lot.
I think it's an OK deal, i believe the contribution from Nike was involved and i reckon that's about all Barcelona could muster. How/if it will be spent will be interesting (if it hasn't already).Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I’m with you on this but I wish they could have waited til the summer. Barca are the cunts here - their public ‘courting’ of players is beyond oppressive. I genuinely believe they wanted him no so as to weaken us in the Champions League.
