It's no surprise though is it that people have issues/worries about his size and strength, i mean some people..rightly or wrongly; bring up the same things when discussing Messi ever playing or settling into the Prem, especially if he was at a club like LFC, at the stage we're currently at.

I hope he stays at lfc for a long long time, enough to play himself into this league if need be, i just don't think anyone should get their hopes up about this lad making an immediate impact is all.

Personally I think the size comment these experts make is almost as irrelevant as the Premiership experience line they trot out as to why you should buy premiership players. Voronin, Jovanivic etc were pretty built. They were absolute dogs*it. You're not going to get a stacked player who can dribble for fun, beat players with speed and trickery. Not going to happen.

Messi is slight and gets some right hefty tackles. I don't think size is that crucial. His ability to adapt will be and mental toughness to cope with the hatchet men.

I think lots of the small ones are well built, strong, even Maradonna was toned in his pomp, our very own Suarez too.

I was meant to be referring more to the height issue. Smaller players have a lower centre of gravity so should be better at dribbling and beating players. I'm probably wrong though

I don't see height as a big issue tbh for a player with the sort of skill set were talking about, but i do think it's an advantage to be strong and well built'ish, rather than being slight, is what i was more alluding too.
