Remember that Gerard Pique? He was ****ing rubbish when he played for United and they were quite right to sell him off, nobody's even heard of him since then.

Also, Moratti did say that they weren't going to play with a Coutinho type player so found no use in keeping him on.

Vickery has seen nothing of him since he left Brazil and his only opinion then is he didn't think he was a wonderkid. Not much to back up his opinion really. He would have been better saying nothing really.

The Pique sale is hilarious. If any other manager had bombed him out like that he'd be constantly mocked

Coutinho might never hit his peak and he could be another talented young player who never lives up to his promise... but he could also be a world class player and we could've pulled off a great deal. Here's hoping for the latter.

Sometimes you have to take a chance. I've always said I find it odd why more clubs here don't take chances on young South American players. For a modest fee he is well worth the risk

I'd sooner spend £8M on Coutinho than £15M on Zaha...

At the time though, Young player to break up the ferdinand/Vidic Axis was always going to be impossible. Apparently it was Queiroz who never rated him at all and wanted rid, Baconface pleaded with Pique to stay sent a letter to him telling him that he would be one of the best Centrebacks in the world, But at least they still have Jonny Evans

Just hope he makes a good start, and is strong enough to earn the right to play, he'll get battered by Premiership defenders after he pulls off his first couple of nutmegs, so hopefully he can handle whatever is thrown at him.

                    That is my only concern.

Tbh, i can't wait to see pics of him training with the lads, bring a bit of perspective to the debate.

*waits for someone to find a pic that makes him look 2ft tall*

Can see him and Luis trying to out-do each other on the number of nutmegs per game. It's been a long time since we've had 3 or 4 players in our team at the same time capable of unlocking a defence. We've always been reliant on Gerrard and Torres or Gerrard and Suarez. We now have options. It's exciting.

I went to watch our reserves play United's when we played our home games in Warrington. Pique played for them and he was so **** that me and my mate were taking the piss out of him.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

If Coutinho can have the effect of linking with not just Suarez, but all our striking options; with smart skillfull football, the results could be fantastic, i have no doubt about that at all.
