I'd say its the best depth we've had as a squad for many a year, still not quite there yet but it's good to see we've improved on our options from the very dark days of a couple of seasons ago (CHAD!!)

Gerrard, Henderson and Coutinho wouldn't be playing wide. The width would be coming from the fullbacks but that is the case anyway.Originally posted by RedReet View PostThey don’t have to play wide. We just line up like we did against Palace, except we swap Lucas for one of the CB’s and have him playing between the 2 CB’s and Gerrard and Henderson. I don’t think we’ll be any more exposed at the back than we are now.
I think Ozil aside Coutinho is the most creative midfielder in the league and simply has to be squeezed into the team but it needs to be done without us losing solidity in midfield.

don't get me wrong - i think we've defo improved as a squadOriginally posted by rcasemore View PostI'd say its the best depth we've had as a squad for many a year, still not quite there yet but it's good to see we've improved on our options from the very dark days of a couple of seasons ago (CHAD!!)
we are helped by the fact we don't have to worry about european games - it's meant we have been able to get rid of the expensive/average squad type players and concentrated on getting a good/smaller group
i just worry that a couple of injuries to a couple of key players could leave us desperately short (ok you could argue this for any side in the league)
if this was football manager though
- i'd be looking to get top 4 with this squad...
and then keep everyone together (including making the loan signings of cissokho/moses permenant)
and then adding a decent back up keeper, another type of midfielder and then finally another good striking/wide man option who can give us goals, especially if we need to rest/rotate suarez/sturridge .
it's not much, we are not far off.
Also be great if wisdom/borini come back from their loans with say 25-30 first team games under their belt and having really improved and gained experiencei own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Well we've lost our RB, CB, LB, DM, AM, CF and Apas (Originally posted by PTP View Postdon't get me wrong - i think we've defo improved as a squad

Lucas, Coutinho, Johnson and Suarez were all massive losses but we’re still grinding out the results. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

4-4-2 diamond is just a 4-3-3 but instead of 2 wingers and 1 striker you have 2 strikers and an attacking mid. Midfield is the same as a 4-3-3 which Rodgers has been using for ages. Don't see why it can't work.Rafa on Everton - "When you play against the smaller teams at Anfield you know the game will be narrow"

i think my main concern is mignolet
brad jones is **** - if we had him in goal for say 4 or 5 games i'd be pretty nervy
the other concern is both Suarez/Sturridge - if they were to both miss games at the same time, i don't think we'd score. say one had a knock and one was suspended for 3 games
- we'd struggle - and the way this league is - 3 games could turn it one way or other

Mignolet himself has been flapping a lot lately at crosses but we've been getting away with them, his shot stopping is very very good but I wish he'd stay on his line a bit more if he can't make it.Originally posted by PTP View Posti think my main concern is mignolet

I agree about Suarez and Sturridge but hopefully its something we'll address in January because if we're in a good position it would make sense to try and push on.Vive la France

if jones was in goal we would revert to the 6-4-0 formationOriginally posted by PTP View Postbrad jones is **** - if we had him in goal for say 4 or 5 games i'd be pretty nervyremoving all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

If he starts on the weekend I think we will Coutinho our recent good run of form.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
