We should be keeping all our gems together, then add the types of players mentioned in the above posts to what we have, just for fun, Trophies, and Titles.

So the best way to keep him is for him to have a really good season and the best way to lose him is if he has a really good season

A high quality midfielder or maybe a Mane level or better wideman. Pulisic would be more a wideman style recruitment but I suspect he will be on Klopp's radar regardless of whether Coutinho stays or not.

Much as I want Coutinho to stay I do think that we have some quality depth in our attacking positions, and losing him would not be as massive a blow as losing some of our big names has been in the recent past a la Suarez, Alonso etc.

No but as you suggest it would still be a blow and we need to avoid those as much as we possibly can. We've had too many over the past few years and they hold us back.

Lil Phil's only been at LFC for 3 seasons .....signed in 2013.....feels like he's been around for alot longer.....getting better it seems, adding the consistency element to his game.

This is his 4th season though, signed in January that year along with Sturridge.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

What did we pay for him, something like £8M?

Just over that I think. Roughly £20m for him and Dan that window.

Repeat that this January and we'll easily win the league.

Wrong thread obviously, but how much would we get for Sturridge if we cashed in now? Over £25m?

Yep - Rafa Benitez (Inter manager at the time Coutinho was there) suggested him to Liverpool apparently. He'll turn a fine profit in the summer of 2018

The man who also signed Raheem Sterling. While not at the club Rafa will have made us well over 100 million...

I love Rafa but Coutinho is not on Rafa. He went to Espanyol from Inter and did well under Pochettino. Poch wanted him at Southampton but we swooped in at the last minute.
