Yep, he wont be going anywhere for a long while, Real are banned from signing players next summer anyway and Barca couldnt afford him. We are absolutely mugging him on this 70k a week contract or whatever it is though so his agent should be banging down the door.

I think we need to win a trophy and get CL this season to help keep him happy and I think he merits a new contract if he carries on like he is - after all Sturridge is our highest earner and Coutinho is by far our most influential player.

I dunno, I might be extremely naive but I think that Coutinho is an entirely different character to Suarez, who was always going to go anyway - I always got the feeling that he pretty much was staying for one more season only.

We really need to move away from the idea of selling our best players. Barca and Real can't be under the impression that they can sign our players if they want to - even if that means taking a hit. If United can keep De Gea without CL, then we should be able to keep Phil with it. I mean, if it really came down to it, we could always value him at a price we knew Barca wouldn't be prepared to pay - that way we could say to him that we value him more highly than they do.

But we shouldn't be thinking about him leaving - he is an LFC player and a fantastic one at that.

Yeah he's been great and has added consistency to his game this season. Him and Firminho have a telepathic understanding at times. Him, Bobby and Llallana are fantastic in tight areas.
