lets see if he gets an legit injury when he's away on international duty. He's not match fit so it's not ideal he's stepping into a full blooded world cup qualified.

would be an interesting situation if he got injured for 4+ weeks

Thing about it is, that we don't know if it's the club or him which are the source of the injury, I tend to think it's the former. The other thing is despite not getting any direct quotes from players, reports say that the squad are 'sympathetic' to his situation which implies that just about every other player in our squad would be doing or at least consider doing the same thing if Barcelona or Real Madrid came calling. It's what football is I guess.

The bit that saddens me is I can understand that other players moved or may have tried to force moves because we were on the decline. With Coutinho we're looking bright and improving. I would want to think he'd want to be part of the project, he's still young enough to put another 1-3 seasons and still get a move to a supergiant. Alonso clearly had problems with Rafa when he was offered to Juve when he wasn't in his best form with the Barry saga and Mascherano not wanting to be part of a sinking ship under that cunt Woy.

I'm as displeased as anyone by this saga but the change to this thread title is a bit crass and distasteful. Would a mod change it back please?
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

I'm not sure whether he will stay or go in this window, but I don't see him being here in a years time. All the signs point to us replacing him (or at least looking to do so). For all the he's going nowhere statements everyone knows that his future lies elsewhere, and everyone has their own agenda and things that they need to get sorted out.

He is still a very good player and although I don't like what he is doing to us, I can see the appeal of Barcelona to him and can understand why he is doing it. The irony of this is if we can get the signings completed that we seem to be trying to make it might be easier for him to get into the Barcelona side than the LFC side.

If he stays for the remainder of the season he can't sulk and he needs to perform as it is a world cup year and he needs to play well to make the squad. That said I don't see him walking back into the side, he will need to show the club and his teammates some respect and will need to win the fans over again.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Coutinho getting shredded on Brazil TV apparently.
              Coppied from reddit:
It was quite a fresh breath of air to see some of our pundits criticize Coutinho and Barcelona for what they have been up to. On the video, they criticize Coutinho for letting the perception that he's being unprofessional rise when he could be honest with the club from the start.

They bring up a theory, new to me, that Couts and Liverpool set up this fake injury while negotiating with Barça, but made fun of it, even calling Coutinho dumb if that's true, because only the player is getting the hard stick about all of it.

              Not captured here, other points:
It's crazy, but the fact that Coutinho doesn't have a release clause only recently got mentioned around Brazilians sports news, I think as a way to explain why it didn't happened yet. Here, they even praise Liverpool for their stance.

They point that Coutinho is throwing away a chance to be a legend in a club, like some Brazilians are in Europe (mentioned Juninho Pernambucano in Lyon), even reminding that Liverpool is a huge club, the same size or bigger than Barcelona. In their words, "this isn't you getting from a small club to a bigger one".

The hipocrisy from some brazilian national team players in history, that never say no to the NT, but always say yes when called up, pointing out who pays their wages and who doesn't

Pointed the difference between his situation and Neymar, as a way to congratulate Neymar, who played and trained with Barcelona until the very end of the transfer negotiation

They also mentioned how hypocrites Barça and Real fans are in Brazil and the world, crying when Neymar left on a straight deal, but set crysis in other clubs to get their players and even laughed at how Barça managed to do it twice in a single window (Couts and Dembele)
Link to the TV show vid, although it's in Portuguese with no subtitles:

Aye, agree with you there!...Just leave it as his name as no need to put it like that!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

It's a bit of fun and hardly that offensive. Lighten up.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

if we box off the other targets and get a top price for him then happy to move on.
imagine if we are able to keep him and also have the other players to choose from too. get the **** in, we're gonna win the lot.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Even if we're prepared to let him go, I'd make him wait until the Xmas window just to **** off Barca'.

My mate was chatting to McAteer at the Hoff game and he said Phil was a goner. On the other hand McAteer did try to open a car door with a wooden coat hanger..... so probably best to ignore what he says.
