I understand the stance taken by the club but I also would have been happy to get in Lemar, let him go and throw stupid money at Southampton for VVD.

I'd imagine a solemn interview with a friendly journalist (Pearce?) where he says how he dreamt of playing for Barca as a small child and so his head was turned for a while, but he still loves Liverpool and everything about us fans. Maybe "sources close to the player said it was all those ****s at Barca's fault, he never wanted to disrespect the club or his teammates and manager"? Doubt he'll go for the straight statement that he's pissed off he couldn't sign for them but supposes he'll stay now he's got no choice...

We had a halfway house the other week blaming the agent. Then he went off ill.
