A plea to all here: Whether or not you like/respect/love Coutinho or the opposite (or anywere in between) after all that went down this Summer - can all please stop calling him cunt or anything of similar vain and get behind our player instead

Few of us are particularly happy with his actions, but he is an integral part of the squad for at least the season so let's support him like the rest please.

That's fair enough, although I would say that we try to walk a line in distinguishing between overly excitable posts during games when emotions are high, and just a general trend of everyone calling a player names. The "vole cunt" stuff is a bit of a forum meme but I think it does make sense to ask people to reign it in a touch now in this case specifically.

Why though? Phil won't be reading this so the only ones offended seems to be members who are well aware of the history. The treatment that Coutinho has received on here has been largely tongue in cheek but quite deserved

As are all the Neil Youngisms that still get sprinkled around. They were largely hilarious at the time, but that time finished years ago, and most people lack the wit to carry it off I'm honest.

Becuase a) it doesn't help in creating an atmosphere that is for everyone, not all think it's fun and engaging atmosphere when words like cunt, **** etc. are thrown around all the time, and b) because we actually get complaints about it and hence back to point a.

And optimally they don't, I'd for one prefer if people could discuss our players, club and stuff around it without having to resort to that. But yeah, it happens at times and as MrM said in the heat of the moment it get's overlooked, but overall it creates an unpleasent atmosphere here that not all appreciates. And you're welcome to help us clean it up by reporting it - we don't see everything ourselves
