zendens not a central midfielder dont care what people say,not aggresive enough or not got any gyle, dont think he played all that great against birmingham, gerrard obviously does not like playing on right and often drifts infield and leaves space on the wing, dont know what to say about gonzalez apart from all he has got is pace, cant beat anyone for skill maybe he can put a couple of good corners in and just seen rafa blaming mistakes for the defeat but not the team selection mistake though
    RIP IRWT post/rant, best ever

Well have to agree to disagree on this one,
i was disgusted at the way Riise and Gonzalez just stood there as
      Hleb ran at them.

I honestly have been trying to work that one out. My thought process has gone something like this since we signed him:

"Zenden? Why, we don't need another average Left Winger. OK he was free. International player. Maybe decent cover. He's only played 1 season at CM for Boro - I can't see Rafa doing that"

Rafa's playing him at CM??? What? Maybe he's just going to use him as cover - 4th choice. Rafa's an intelliegnt bloke - he knows Bolo isn't good enough to play CM for LFC.

Why the **** is he picking Zenden again? Stop playing him in CM - we're too soft with him in there - he has no pace, can't tackle, can't head, can't pass and can shoot occasionally. He is in fact the Dutch Danny Murphy.

STOP THIS *** RAFA - it's not funny now. Can you not see this guy is distinctly AVERAGE is is simply not good enough to play CM for LFC. WAAKE UP! If I can see it, surely you can!

WTF!???? Momo's out and you STILL REFUSE to play SG at CM, preferring Zenden in there. You're going mad. STOP this sh*t right now!!! "

He's not as good as Danny Murphy.

True - Danny's English is much, much better.

His football is also much, much better. However, rather than it being a big "thumbs up" to Danny Murphy, it's more of a damning indictment on Zenden that he's not half the player Murphy was for us.

It seems we're in need of a clear out....the annual clear out. As much as it pains me to say it, if we could buy and sell players tomorrow I'd be shot of Zenden, Bellamy, Pennant and Finnan without hesitation.

I know he's 57 years old, slower than a dog with no legs, and wouldn't have played regularly, but I'd still have kept Hamann for one more season.

Legend, and still very obviously a better replacement for Momo than Bolo is.

He's not getting a game for City and wasn't even on the bench yesterday - why not try and get him back in January?

Me too along with Fowler, Crouch (while his stock is relatively high) and maybe even Kewell and Garcia to raise funds. Bit harsh oN Finnan, but I would be playing Peltier, Agger and Anderson more on this form.

Offer him a packet of Silk Cut and he'll be back in a shot.

He was a such a great player for us.

Rafa models his style of management on Sacchi's Milan of the 90's by his own admission, though I don't think this was particularly reflected in his Valencia side.
I don't know about anyone else, but I always thought those Italian teams were vulnerable when they played English teams. Vulnerable to a team having a real go at them, high tempo quick moving football. They were great in European competition though.
What pains me is to see teams tearing through our midfield whilst Gerrard is on the right.
I don't give a monkey's whether he's the best right winger at the club, the fact is he is the best central midfielder in the world. He should play in the centre of midfield week in, week out, no ****ing argument. If that means putting Jerzy Dudek on the right wing then so be it. Right wing is not as important a position as central midfield, central midfield is part of the spine of the team and today, with Gerrard on the right, we were spineless.

That is actually a very good and interesting point. I too always felt those Italian sides were vulnerable against good English sides. Hmmmm........

Thanks Shaggy, that's a first for me.

The games we've lost we've been out battled and on occasion also out-classed.

But I thought we'd solved the 'getting out-battled' conundrum. We brought Momo & Crouch into the first team last season and they had the desired effect. Amongst other things they made us bigger, stronger and not so easy to push about. So what's changed?

Over four hours since it finished and the depression shows no sign of easing.

It makes **** all sense. It's an embarrassing piece of poor judgement by Rafa and it makes me extremely nervous about whether or not he can turn things around. I know one thing for certain if I were Stevie today I would've been disgusted after seeing the teamsheet.

                                SORT IT OUT RAFA!!
