If there are so many better wingers then pennant why did rafa try to sign him 3 times and not get a different one.Pennant has what it takes to be a great winger he just needs confidence and a run in the team.
People band around names like Joaquin who has been rubbish for over a season and alves who has never played as a right winger and who is not great at beating players.

Wenger got rid of pennant because of his problems off the field and the fact that wenger does not have wingers like pennant in his teams.He knows the quality pennant has and that is why he insisted on brum agreeing to a sell on clause.

to achieve the status of being a great winger he'll have to work a hell of a lot harder. he's been a terrible signing that has contributed very little and our only hope is that we get something back for him when he's sold. bellamy falls in to the same bracket as pennant, average at their very best and not good enough to play for LFC regardless of the fact that they supported us when they were young.

The trouble is that Pennant made two really good runs but other than that he generally ran inside and gave the ball away cheaply. He clearly has the talent to succeed but he needs to make better decisions. His is far from useless but he does appear to be a tactical moron.

Well it's hard to compare Kuyt because it's his first season in the premiership, but he's done OK.

Pennant's career stats say he's scored 11 goals in 164 games.

Basically a goal every 15 games, around 2 a season.

For an attacking midfielder, this is absolutely woeful.

pennant has no desire IMHO. he coasts through games expecting everyone else to do the hard work. he's a passenger and it shows. he also lacks the skill and quality to beat his man and deliver a good cross into the box. he may improve but he'll have to do alot of work to be up to the standard of being in a team that has aspirations of winning the league. he should've stayed at brum because the championship/bottom half of the prem is about his level.
