    Pennant has been nothing short of a disaster, and Rafa knows it more than anyone. He won't even use him against the top sides, even though he was bought to supply quality from the right so Stevie could play in the middle.

      True. The fact that he was bought to finally fill the problem right sided position and yet hardly starts a game is damning.

        the fact that zenden was perferred to pennant today speaks volumes about what rafa thinks. the writing is surely on the wall?

        I read an interview with bellamy in the programme at the haifia game. he said in it that if you don't perform at a club like liverpool then you don't last long here...i hope he remembers those comments as the season progresses.

          Pennant's already gone IMO. I think Rafa's seen enough.

          Bellamy's on thin ice too. Crouch and Kuyt are both clearly the front 2 right now, and they can hardly be described as an ideal combo.

            Why did he play against chelsea then?We have played a lot of games against the top teams and when we do we need momo and xabi in the middle.I think at the start of the season he was nervous and didnt want to take players on but recently he has started doing this.

            Pennant has had a bad start but he is still got some assists,I cant understand people saying he is an average player he is not playing well but I think the ability is there and it is just confidence that he needs along with a lot of other players in our team.He has only been here three months and has not started a lot of games and people have wriiten him off,Joaquin has done nothing for other a year but people seem to love him.

            Pennants form will pick up when he gets confidence and he is still young so he will get better.

            Pennant does look like he is just coasting through games but that is just his style of play but I think he works hard.Last season when he tore pompey apart he still looked like he wasnt giving his all when he was.

                          with a username like yours i wouldn't expect you t be anything other than pro-pennant but i think you have to look at the facts mate and realise that he just isn't good enough.

                          he played against the chavs at the start of the season and was found wanting. he then came on at old toilet did nothing and again today. they are just a couple of the reasons that he's not getting a place in the side.

                          as for his confidence...that's got nothing to do with his lack of effort. he could still try and work hard. sadly he's not since he's been here and probably never will. i never rated him when he was at arsenal and i rate him even less now.

                            i doubt very much that he'll last until next august when the transfer window closes never mind all of next season. rafa got shot of nando when he didn't perform so jermaine pennant will probably suffer the same fate.

                              anyone who thinks pennant has shown enough quality to be anywhere near the liverpool team has no concept of what bein a liverpool player should be.

                              The Buys Rafa has made this season apart from Kuyt have houiller's summer of 2002 written all over them.
