Lets bring in a few players..

that will play for the shirt.
I'm thinking of Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan, Leyton Baines, Micah Richards etc come on we need a bit of fight and passion in their, these players would give us that in abundance and quality to go with it.
One or two of the above in January would do.

The lack of committement and bottle we've shown against the big boys THIS season has been a total disagrace, end of story.

Yes but we need players with both quality and desire.

If Bellamy and Pennant cost £13m combined (and they have neither) what are proper LFC quality players going to cost?

More than we can currently afford.

And there are only so many Agger type signings out there.

Rafa's hands are tied - which is stopping me from fully blaming him - but he has to change the teams approach away from home. It's hindering us, not helping.

you're talking a lot of sense there, niall. rafa has to be given a load of cahs to improve the squad, far more than the club can currently afford. that points to one thing...INVESTMENT!

is david moores holding the club back to suit his own needs?

Lets just analyze this a second:

In three seasons the quality players we've brought in ready for the first team have been:

              04/05

              Garcia - 6 mil
              Alonso - 10 mil

              05/06

              Reina - 6 mil
              Sissoko - 5.6 mil
              Crouch - 7 mil
              Agger - 5.8 mil

              06/07

              Kuyt - 9 mil

And the quality players he had in to begin with

              Carra
              Gerrard
              Finnan
              Riise
              Hyypia
              Kewell
              Dudek

              That's 14 very capable players

without mentioning the likes of Paletta, Carson et al

Thats only 2 players short off of a full 16 man squad

So are we really only 2 players away from not having to endure another 3-0 result like today?

Bit late in the day isn't it. We've just blown loads of cash in the summer and only one player worth the cash to show for it.

it's not as simple as that - we've got more quality players than arsenal had today. Ask yourself this: would flamini, eboue, clichy, almunia etc get into our starting line up? of arsenal's 11 today, i'd have henry, gallas and van persie, with fabregas on the bench. In theory, we should have won comfortably if it's all about so-called quality players.

Leyton Baines, Micah Richards - definitly for the future!!!

Also would like to see Barton amongst our ranks to in midfield, his battling spirit, very similar to Gerrard.

I think it's mostly down to Rafa.

He just doesn't get the mindset./mental approach needed, week in, week out to win the league.

Being negative or cautious away from home to Sheffield United isn't going to get you anywhere.

People have a go at Chelsea for being negative, but they go at teams, dominate, usually build up a 2-0 goal lead then shut up shop. But they have that intent to win from the first. We never do this.

Why are Chelsea and the scum top of the league?, they attack, score goals, show their superiority, mentally, physically, defensively and offensively. Yet Rafa picks a side to match up with Bolton to stop them playing. It's absolute ****ing madness.

Of course he needs better players, but he's also part of the problem.

I know it's not that's the point of my question. Giving Rafa money to bring in the like of Barton, Nolan etc isn't going to solve anything. We have the quality there mostly, but something falls apart in these matches. Look at our last 2 trips to Highbury, we were absolute **** like today, and Rafa hasn't worked out how to break them down simple as that I think.

It's the results like Everton that bother me because that shows regression.
