    Agree.

This is why I mention the fact that all we have brought in is Squad type players....

    When quality was needed.
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Bill Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: "Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!"

I still think we should judge the new players at the end of the season and when they have played a consistent role in the team.
"What's your favourite Beatles album then?"
"I think I'd have to say....Best of the Beatles"

we got by with the squad we had last year didn't we? that's what makes all of the signings even more baffling. we could have kept sinama and there would have been no need to buy bellamy that way we would have had the cash for both kuyt and alves.

i think you only have to look at the fact that rafa preffered stevie on the right with bolo i the middle to see that he doesn't have any faith in pennant. i think it's safe to say that the writing is already on the wall for a few players. i'd rather have kept spud than have pennant at the club.

Agree but 6million for Bellamy and 6milion for Pennant, I would have spent 12million in a few others ways ..
Gonzo will come good I am sure, as for Pennant, I am really not so sure, he may need more games, but for goodness sake he's playing for LFC, not Birmingham, I want to see more passion from the kid, get in there, shake it up and take people on for gods sake.
Today though I did see a small glint of hope ...

As for Bellamy, A good mate of mine is a Geordie season ticket holder and the first thing he said to me was ... '...You great massively frustrated coz he'll miss loads more than he scores....' he gives a little more passion, but he was poor in the Carling Cup.

I'd rather play Fowler who at least has the ability.
I wouldn't play either. Saha also hasn't got knees that are shot to ****

Zenden, Pennant, Bellamy, Crouch, Fowler (2005 version) aren't LFC class and maybe Gonzalez and Aurelio aren't either. Too many not of the right standard.

                Ask Kevin Keegan.

Coasting in the league, signs David Batty and Faustino Asprilla, drops Keith Gillespie and ends up a very distant second.

Transfers don't always work out, I don't blame Rafa for that. I do blame him for not playing Gerrard in the centre of midfield though.

I think a major problem this season has been Carra's form. He's been, so far, unable to reproduce the form of the last two seasons.

indeed, though what we paid for Pennant was certainly not cheap. We could have picked up plenty of players to do his job for 2 million or less.

I still can't believe the fee we paid. Not the lad's fault, but still, whoever decided he was worth that?

There's currently no evidence to suggest he's learned the lesson, only that the the lesson has been taught.

I think he'll learn from it.

Bellamy and Pennant will be sold next summer.

                        We'll sign quality not quantity.

And we'll see Gerrard with Alonso in the middle against Boro.

                        I hope.
