    Set piece therefore goal

Can someone pls post a statistic how many goals Liverpool conceded through a set piece this season?

It seems that the majority of the goals we concede come from a corner or a freekick....

Was this the same problem under Rafa...?

The West Brom players said as much post match. I think it was Foster who said "we knew set pieces were important for us tonight".

It was so obvious they'd score from that corner. Sickeningly obvious.

Yep I also said Gerrard would miss that pen.

You got the sense after about 10 minutes that it was going to be one of those nights. Painful viewing from start to finish.

I had my doubts when I found Shelvey was playing. It's funny. I also was pretty sure about 20 mins in that we'd drop points, but we still never stop watching. It's like we love punishment

was that not just the fact that they knew they'd get dicked and have no other chances?

You're always right. And I always hate you.

Meh, it was one of those days again. We don't yet have the "passion" to win games. As epitomised with Johnson's brainless dinked passing. Just didn't want to win the game enough. No one's position in our team should be safe, that breeds complacency. Even for Gerrard, Reina, Suarez, etc.

Can someone also post how many set pieces we have conceded in total this season.

And then do the same for every other team in the league? Then rank the teams in 3 ways:

Number of goals conceded from set pieces
Percentage of goals conceded from set pieces
Percentage of set pieces which have resulted in goals conceded.

I'm kinda guessing we'd probably be mid table in those rankings. Can't be sure though.
                    Oh I don't know.

The point is we ALL tipped he would miss, they showed an image of his previous 5 pens which went bottom right of the goalkeeper, any normal goalkeeper would have dived the same way, but no, bloody Foster guessed right, went the other way and saved the damn thing.

The way the game had progressed suggested he would miss, I told the misses he would balloon it over the bar. It just seemed to be made to miss.

I too predicted a save. The proof is in the match thread.

It's not just Liverpool who have struggled from set-pieces, you could argue that it is the entire Premiership. Maybe if we looked at it from an attacking point of view, perhaps teams are becoming more efficient at scoring from them?
