Sturridge being out has seen us immediately revert to the sort of performances we served up before he came. It's pretty ****e that him being missing has such an effect.

I'd love to see us looking solid again, used to feel confident in used seeing games out at 1-0 or holding on at 0-0 but at the minute it looks like anyone could score 2 or 3 against us.
Lots of work for us to do in the summer, we've seen how much we miss Sturridge already in our last 2 games IMO.
We definitely need to bring in players who can score and create, I hope we get Ince, even if it's at Championship level he's got more in him than Downing, who has been tidy but we need more.Vive la France

Of course but its poor that we appear so reliant on him after a month. Why not at least start Borini in his place and keep the same set up?Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Postnot really. that's why we bought him, to make a difference. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Suarez did miss several perfectly respectable chances, and if any had gone in it would have changed the complexion of the match entirely. Having said that, we were inviting pressure - again - and conceding goals was almost inevitable.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostSturridge being out has seen us immediately revert to the sort of performances we served up before he came. wtf did you expect us to be doing? Chasing the league? We have a shut of load of catching up to do and we are lumbered with too many players who are not good enough, but to say we have been ****e all season is just a silly and and unthinking and ridiculously hyperbolic.

i wouldn't really say we're reliant on him after a month. we just look like we did before he came in really.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostOf course but its poor that we appear so reliant on him after a month. We really are, I hope Rodgers sees it that way as well. If he's here this summer which I think he will be, the owners need to back him, but its massive for both him and us.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostWe are too soft in the middle. I've all but given up on Allen now as even a care bear would push him off the ball. He needs too be sold and replaced with a quality DM. We also need to rebuild the defence in the summer.
Allen has been really poor after a promising start.
Borini has been injured but either side of that he's not really shown an awful lot apart from decent movement.
Sahin was played out of position arguably but flopped massively.
Assaidi has been injured again but doesn't seem to get a look in anyway
Sturridge has been great so far but the Allen form makes it hard to say he's 100% gonna be a success
Coutinho exciting but impossible to tell yet.
They're his signings and so far I could understand, much like with Kenny if FSG find it hard to justify backing him. In terms of results, we're no better off than last season.
Massive improvements needed.Vive la France

We tinkered with the set up and it worked, so why not start Borini in Sturridge's place? Instead Rodgers has willingly gone back to how it was before.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Posti wouldn't really say we're reliant on him after a month. we just look like we did before he came in really. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I'm still struggling to see what our set up is, much like last season. I know its early in his reign and probably not the best comparison but **** it... With Arsenal when 1 player is out missing, the player that comes in has the same role basically and the set up doesn't change. It's players to fit a formation and game plan, we're not there by a long shot. Yet.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostOf course but its poor that we appear so reliant on him after a month. for better or worse, he doesn't seem to think borini is capable of playing in sturridge's spot. i can't imagine borini holding the ball up tbh.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostWe tinkered with the set up and it worked, so why not start Borini in Sturridge's place?
