The subs killed the fluency but after the 3rd Zenit started pressing us high up the pitch which also stopped us playing.

Two subs so soon after scoring the third really has to be questioned. Goals should change plans. Needed to wait for ten and see how it settled down.

Great effort though, Downing did brilliant, Suarez superb and some character from the team in the face of unlikely odds.

Suarez looked ****ing sick at the end of that game. He gave his all there.

Gerrard didn't show up tonight, guess we're gonna have to get used to him not pulling us out the **** 100% of the time now days. Johnson was really, really poor as well, 2 big players right there not contributing.

We had about 35 minutes to get our goal and bar the Shelvey effort I'm struggling to think of anything we created.

Downing working hard, put in some good crosses and overall had a solid game.

Shame for Carragher that mistake will be eating at him no doubt.
