Disagree mate, think Shelvey,Sterling & Suso would hugely benefit from loan moves. But i agree Sterling was massively overplayed at the start of the season & done the best he could.
Players never come back better from loan moves, it's a myth. Normally it's the first move towards the exit door.
I expected to see some consistency toward the end of Brendans first season. I fully expected us to be further up the table than sides with squads costing a 5th of our own.
Ok well this is the 2nd half of the league, let's see where we end up
I thought we did okay, but it shows that without Sturridge, we struggle to get goals from anyone other than Suarez. Thats a real weakness, as he can blow hot and cold, as was evident in the first leg... and his first couple of seasons at Anfield. We need to show we have more to offer going forward. I presume in the system we play that some of the other players are meant to score.
Nice to see Allen get on the score sheet though, and Assaldi looked okay also. I am not going to blame Shelvey, I cant understand what people have against him. He is no worse than Henderson was last year, or Lucas in his first year.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
Was really pleased with that game. We didn't collapse like I thought we would. Rodgers got his tactics SPOT ON yet again despite missing Sturridge and Coutinho. But for another unforced error from yet another one of our defenders we had that game sewn up.
Had we qualified tonight we would be considered one of the favourites. On the other hand Zenit qualified and are being considered easy meat for whomever they face. I'm happy that we handed their arses to them barring Carragher's lack of footballing skills.
One thing I will say. I'm not keen on this passing around the back 4 at all, my bumhole ends up flapping every time.
Its the personnel again I'm afraid. I'm sure Rodgers bumhole is fidgeting too everytime he has to watch the ball being played around back there without the necessary skill.
Johnson and Enrique are alright at it. Agger just about copes too. But Skrtel, Carra, Wisdom, Henderson are the weakest link in that chain which forces Pepe to receive the ball more times than he should.
But Rodgers can't change the system back to hoof ball just to suit the likes of Carra who won't be around too much longer. Once we get the right players in you won't see the ball back there so often.

No code has to be inserted here.
The table depends on how you want to interpret it. Its alright saying we're 3rd in the last 8 games, but spurs and Utd have played 7, arsenal, Chelsea and city have been ****e, and we're just just 2 and 3 points above Swansea and Southampton. We've also had a really easy run of games playing arsenal and city in poor form, whilst losing to Oldham and villa. There's nothing to convince me otherwise there.
