I was on the kop on thursday and the place was pumping. Completely lost my voice by the end of the match and it's been quite a while since we have had an atmosphere like that at the ground.

I was in the Lower Centenary and my throat is now totally ragged.
The atmosphere was superb and if we could get half that for normal matches it'd make a difference.
Is shouting "get up you green cunt" at Hulk racist?

Only if he was a Martian I'd have thought.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Yes we did. In the late 60s early 70s people got to the ground (after a few bevvies) earlier and it was a significant part of the event. That's when Anfield and the Kop got it's reputation.

It was brilliant, it was mad, it was often inspired. I'm not looking through glasses with any kind of tint when I say that the crowd, shouted screamed and sang through even the most routine victories (as they always were ). If the away supporters tried to get anything going they were simply drowned out with wit, humour volume and venom.

It was years before I went to another ground and I thought it was weird that you could hear the players shouting at one another. That's even common at Anfield now.

I've got an album (sorry, LP - vinyl) somewhere in the attic from the 60s (I think we'd won the league and the nevers came second or something) one side is us the other side is the bitters - I've never listened to that side, funnily enough.

If I find it I'll try to post it somewhere. Haven't heard it for xx yrs but from memory it's brilliant!
