I knew we'd been scoring a lot more since the turn of the year but that's still shocked me! I only caught the 2nd half and MoTD but we looked pretty good, Rodgers called us 'sensational' but without seeing the 1st half properly it seems a little hyperbole considering Reina needed to make a few great saves.

Coutinho looked boss work rate, dribbling and eye of a needle passing.

I still think we miss Sturridge when he doesn't play but Downing seems to have turned a corner. Because of how poor Allen has been lately I think he needs to put in a couple of really good performance or it'll take a while for the fans to think he's good enough with 7/10 games.

Wigan were not dire. They had more shots on goal than we had, 50% more. Yes we outplayed them. However, if it had not been for Pepe it could have finished 3 - 4 to us

He was brilliant for the first half but faded in the 2nd which is understandable. I'd liked to have seen Assaidi for the last half an hour but the more game time Coutinho gets the fitter he'll be so I wasn't too disappointed.

His forward running was delightful and he carried it forward and slotted a great through ball to Suarez (first goal), he also beat his fullback and spotted Downing's (excellent) run to lose his marker at the back post and head for our first.

Sign Ince in the summer and I reckon we have a very healthy attack.....we could do with Sterling staying out of jail and also skipping the U21 tourno this summer....
