Downing and sturridge have been ineffective.... Johnson and Lucas have been terrible. Really need to start dominating in midfield.

our defending and lack of beef in the middle of the pitch means we will struggle if we set up to defend and hit them on the counter.
we need to take the game by the scruff of the neck and attack.
id bring henderson on to man-mark bale, and let them worry about us ripping them.

We've been good in patches.

Sturridge has struggled to get into the game and at times doesn't seem know his role in the side today.

Lucas has done a good job on Bale but he's been caught out once or twice towards the end of the half.

Downing has been very good off the ball and done okay when he's had it, bit quiet but putting in a good shift. Coutinho has the something else doesn't he, can see a pass when it looks like nothing is on.

Hes seriously been dodgy int he defense department for a very long time now. Hes even passing the ball back more often than going forward. I'd have no problem with him being replaced for someone who can actually defend.

Also wouldn't mind seeing exactly when/where Bale was allowed back onto the pitch.........still should have been defended properly anyway.

Didn't for a second think it was a pen at the time but looking at the replay Coutinho was definitely pulled over.

Regardless, we need to start competing in the middle second half. Not sure who I'd change if anyone at the moment, but Hendo's dynamism would be a useful asset.

Harsh. He's been excellent for club and country for easily 12 months now, he's been out of form the last month but he's still got plenty to offer. Great pro, plays left back without making any fuss and when he's on his game he's a match winner from the back.

I agree we could do with someone to push him though, Kelly is injured more than he's available and I don't think Wisdom is best used at RB. Hopefully we'll see a bit more of McLaughlin next year, he's already ahead of Flanagan.
