At times I thought there were similarities between how Spurs were playing and how Rafa used to set us up - it seems AVB is a better manager than many of us gave him credit for (after his doomed spell at Chelsea).

AVB's a very good manager, wasn't given a fair crack of the whip at Chelsea due to player power.

      He's still a cock though!

I know they had a long period of the match where they were on top, but was anyone less than impressed with their style of football?

I was. I don't think they're very attractive to watch really. I think we play much better football. Our move for Suarez's goal, for example, was a joy to watch. I felt they bullied us for a while, and threw us off our game, but they never at any point outplayed us.

In summary, I genuinely believe we're a much better footballing side than they are.

Chelsea is a circus and not a berometer of talent for players/managers*

          * except Torres

I agree Pablo. They scored from lfc's calamitous defending and threatened with athleticism rather than guile. Still, it seems to work for them more often than not.

Looking at the table, we are 9 points off 3rd place.

Having played a game more with 9 to go.
                Oh I don't know.

Nope...we've played the same amount of games.

Physically we struggled. Would like to seem some brutes brought in particularly for central defence. Delighted with teh result though!

**** it, Arsenal are two points ahead but they have to play West Brom, Newcastle, Everton and Man Utd!

                        They play Swansea next too.

The next two matches will give us an indication of where we're headed:

                          Vs Southampton (A)
                          Vs Aston Villa (A)

On paper we should win them both, but our away form is still very poor. We've only taken 8 points from our last six away games.

Two wins and we'll be putting real pressure on Arsenal and possibly even Chelsea IMO. Both are capable off throwing in the odd surprise draw/defeat. Anything less than that and we'll just be looking at fending off Everton and West Brom for 6th place.

Oh and I thought this was a decent visual to show the steady (albeit slower than we'd like) progress we've made as the seasons gone on:

We're headed in the right direction.

Ah the lofty heights of 6th

I've said it earlier in the year that I wasn't impressed by their football. We played them off the park at whl so I'm glad that we got the result right yesterday even if we didn't play well. I think the high line that avb uses suits them as they have a lot of pace and power. I think we're already a better team than them and Bale is overrated.
                                Are we winning?
