Must have given him the lowdown on Loris.

And Stefan Freund (sp) always looks like he can do with a good scrub.

          He did.

He told him just before the match that Lloris always goes to his right during the penalty kicks and Stevie went the left and scored.

I can imagine that to be true, but was this said in an interview or something?

James Pearce from Echo said that on Twitter the other day.

Great touch by Steven Gerrard to race over and celebrate with John Achterberg after his match-winning penalty at Anfield today.

The GK coach had put together a montage pre-match which showed that Lloris always dives to his right at pens. As a result Stevie went left.

Surely his right is the same as Gerrard's left?

Anyway - I bet Loris dives the other way when he's facing his next spot kick.

Or will he? It's the ultimate psychological battle now, much like the head **** you get if you have to take two penalties in the same match ... Llrois knows that the opposition knows and the opposition knows that Lloris knows, so do you go with what you know or do you think Lloris is going to know what you're thinking and go against the grain because that's what the opposition will be thinking? Or will Lloris stick to the right, because the ... well, you get the gist.

I don't envy the next penalty taker against Lloris.

i dunno about other people so much, but i certainly don't overthink my penalties. just step up and take them confidently, aim for the corner and they tend to go in.
