Before the Gooners game I was blindly optimistic knowing that Rosicky wasnt going to play. Kind of hoping for 451 from the arse I thought well we could actually turn this around with SG in the middle, maybe getting the best out of Xabi and hopefully allowing JP to really have a game to get stuck into.......
The problems as I see them are substantial and need addressing.....
Firstly, with Gerrard on the right we lack width over on that side as he still has tendancy to drift in and attempt to influence the game. The balance with him in the centre means that JP will have the opportunity to play.
1. You dont need an MBA to spot that with the current formation against the better teams we struggle. No width or balance to the side.
2. Alonso must be rested, I dont know how to replace him but I'd rather have anything else there currently.
3. People are criticising JP for not really getting into games. Well that will continue unless you pick him from the start. FFS its not hard
4. Gonzales, less siad the better. We will have to wait for the boy to understnasd that this games is complex and not a walk in the park. Maybe Stevie Highway can coach him through this.
5. Pick Gerrard in the middle or contineu to loose games and possible him in the near future!! Zenden in the middle with a crap Alonso. Is there any surprise we were shyte yesterday.
6. Agger is simply better than Sami. Sorry it obvious and we need to address this immediately.
7. We miss HK hugely!!
8. Someone, ideally a GK coach kick the shyte out of Reina until remebers that you are able to catch a ball if you can get a fist to it.
9. Against a very quick bac 4 you dont play your slowest player. Sorry PC but its true, Bellamny was needed alonside DK today.
10. We need the King of SPain in high quality opponent games like yesterday. He would have kept Flamini busy all day and probably alloweed SG the space he needs to influence the game from the middle.
11. Riise is well a donkey when agaist out and out pace, ironically although Fabio has had a ****ty start I would now give him a run as i am sick and tired of seeing the ball layed sideways and thwen back wards from the left.
12. I am gutted for Momo, but without him the changes need to be made and real men need to step up and be counnted.
13. Give Carra the armband FFS leaderhsip comes from the heart and the head and SG is all [oops] up at the moment you can see it. I want SG to focus on playing!!
14. Rafa...mmmmmmm there is no shame in getting wrong if you try other things, however playing the same shyte week in and week out against the good teams is stupidity. Rafa if you are as good as we hope and beleive you are you will change things around but play to our strengths. Agian ironically 12 games in to the season and there is nothing left to loose. Give Pennant a go on the right drop SG into the middle, sort Xabi out or drop him, replace Sami with Dan and lets see how things pna out for a few weeks.
Lets not forget though we have to assess that we have probably had our 5 hardest away games of the seaons already completed, although in poor fashion there is now a real chance to give the youngster and those than need to find form a good run in the side.
I am struggling to justify the costs of travelling 280 odd miles to come and see my team, but will have no hesitation if we change things up a bit, try what is obvious and battle. Enterntainment doesnt mean we drub teams 7-0, entertainment is about repaying the fans with a level of skill and commitment that reflects the commitment they make every season.
From a fans perspective, I am goin to get more aggressive and passionate when I next come to Anfield and we should all demand more passion and nosie from our felloow fans than we are currently giving the team at home too.
Finally I would like to raise my hat to the away fans who have had to endure what can only be termed rubbish. They were a credit to the club yesterday even though Sky turned them down you could hear them all game.
I am going to remian positive, and hope that Rafa has the courage to do what is right.
