Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Managers have good reasons for being biased and for assessing things differently in public at least.

Most pundits are totally unaware of their biases, that's why they're useless and not worth paying any attention to whatsoever.

I've got MOTD2 recorded. I might get round to watching it. It doesn't sound worth it though. But I got that from the result.
To label the garbage that they come out with as 'analysis' norbs me right off. It's the opposite of analysis. They generally either state what happened 'he passed it him, and he headed it in', or they use footage to justify their own preconceptions and stereotypical views.

MOTD completely ignored one of our penalty claims from their "post match" analysis

To be honest I thought it was a nothing game and the teams pretty much got what they deserved out of it.

A draw was about right imo

Liverpool are a lot more direct than when Brendan first came in. He has also been seen to change tactics for the good of the result in several games when it became apparent that his initial set up hasn't been working.

To say he only has a Plan A and one approach is completely missing the blindingly obvious.

Its far too rudimentary to say that lump it to the big lump would have made any difference against West Ham. Carroll was used last season with that tactic in mind - worked out really well that, didn't it?

A problem is that we can't control that many games. If the opposition want to dominate the midfield and attack us then they will do it.

If the opposition want to sit back and park the bus then we just let them do it and do nothing to change it.

If the opposition want to force us to make a lot of crosses then they will do it.

Rodgers isn't winning the tactical battle that often and tactics is supposed to be one of his strenghts.

The opposition sit back in a lot of games because they know that we are weak defending counter attacks.

I don't care that much how much possession we have because a lot of it is because the opposition want us to play that way.

We've controlled some games this season.

We didn't control many games in the season we won the CL and we certainly didn't control the final apart from, perhaps, for six crazy minutes. We did it a lot under Benitez but it took time to learn how to do it and unfortunately we lost the ability, probably in large part because we lost Alonso and then Mascherano.

at this time last year we were actively regressing. it was awful to watch. this year we've had a couple of blips but by and large have been improving by small degrees, and often entertaining while we do. i prefer how it is now.

Me too. There have been some games that have been pure joy to watch this year. I haven't felt the levels of misery in defeat I experienced last season. Its been a laugh this year. Its entertainment.

Games this season in which LFC have had more possession than opposition = 22

So where's the quote where Brendan says 'dominating the game with the ball' equates to 'having marginally more possession'?

I wish i hadn't looked for it now, first thing i found was this...

                            On BR positivity...
Remember, this is a man that said the following after Swansea were beaten 2-0 at Sunderland last season: "It is great for the public here at Sunderland to see us. They must have been wondering what this team everyone is talking about are all about, and now they have seen. We were wonderful."

Haha, I was glad for the edit, because I was a bit confused there

What a bizarre quote though. Sounds almost fabricated!

Well, we play good football to watch most of the times but I doubt that FSG care about that. IMO they will look at the money and points and not if we play good or bad football.

If our manager make us play fantastic attacking football and we finish say 12 points behind fourth place then the manager will be in trouble and may be sacked.

If we play boring football and finish in fourth then there is almost no chance that he will be sacked.
