    The weekly positivity thread

Well this to be a regular thing these days, but lets see what positives we can salvage from our recent thumping:

All of the 'hard' games are out of the way now, although Boro next week are no pushovers we can be a bit hopeful that we aren't going to get a thumping like we've had in recent away visits.

We are only 4 points from Arsenal who are now considered back in he title race? Go figure

We have a very winnable run of about 7/8 league games now to get us in a healthier position, while most of our rivals have a hard run in up until crimbo.

Our home form is excellent and you would rarely bet against a home win for us, all the teams we've been beaten by still need to come to Anfield in the second half of the season, so hopefully we will get a chance to give a good account of ourselves, and show that we aren't as rubbish as we've been making out.

We're through to the champs league last 16 with two games to spare, (the only English team I believe) that's a record for us, and means we can breath easy on these fixtures till the new year.

We will get a chance to right the wrongs v Arsenal in the Carling Cup, which by the way we are in the quarter finals of now.

We do have a quality team but they just aren't working for each other at the moment, once we get one away win under our belt, it will sort out the team mentality and give us a bit of belief.

The defeats we've had might have been easier to take if they hadn't all come at once. If the tough fixtures had been spaced out over the season, then we wouldn't be talking about the crisis we are in now.

We are still a team in transition and we've had to settle in new players, whilst incurring our hardest set of fixtures in recent memory. Whether the players are good enough or not is debatable, but any confidence players certainly won't have had a chance to shine recently, so now they really have a chance to prove themselves up until Christmas, if they can't find their feet in these games then they probably never will.

There's another transfer window in January, if we really need to bring in a player we can do it then, and I've a feeling Rafa already knows who he wants.

There's an international break this week, and while I wouldn't normally say that was a good thing, it'll give the players a chance to get away and hopefully reflect on what's going wrong, whilst giving Rafa a chance to collect his thoughts to mount some sort of a comeback.

It's not all doom and gloom, we just need to look for the positives!

Excellent stuff Morph. You're right, it's not all doom and gloom. Things look worse because as you say our really tough games have come close to each other. This is what I've been trying to explain to people but couldn't express myself as clearly as you have.

However, we have to put a string of wins together now that he fixture list looks better for us. I don't want to be too hard and think of words like 'crisis' etc but we really can't afford to loose 2 out of the next 8/9 games.

If we could just get a bit of confidence!!
No, no, no.........I'm only scary 'cause I'm hairy

well done was going to write something similiar.

I really think the fixtures have been fixed this year. I have never known an away start like it.

if Chelsea and scum Draw both there games....and we win our fixtures the same week
we beat them both at home
Arsenal beat both chelse and scum at home and we win on the same day then we will be only 4 points behind
          SCUM

          easily catchable

its true. We've been poor, the league is a 1000/1 shot now, and RCDDW, but its not quite as bad as people have been making out.

And while we're at it, lets remember how we did in the league the saeson this happened

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                Mine angry and defrauded young?

I'll go with that Morph - I think we're giving ourselves too much of a kicking. Recent defeats, and by massive margins by our standards, are more than depressing.

                      However, something needs fixing.

I believe that we are still a team in transition and that Rafa and the players will get it together. Title 19 isn't for this season, we know that now, but we'll be in the Champs League next year.

It's nice to be so positive but looking at the team this season and our away displays I can't see us putting any sort of sustainable run together. All is not well with the team
                        Dare we believe

weekly positive, thank god the game only lasted 90 minutes

besides that, we were outplayed and outclassed, but hopefully the worst is now over.

we've played the 5 hardest away games on the trot, and if we, somehow, manage to win all those return fixtures, we're still in with a shout.
