I don't think we should always give credit to keepers for us dropping points. Reading are bottom of the table. I'm sorry but we should have been able to score a goal, regardless of how good the keeper played. I think one of the issues is, and has been for many years, that if we don't score early we lose confidence, start snatching at efforts and play becomes a little too rushed.

I can see why he still wants a couple of attacking players in all honesty as well as defenders.

That's my view on it anyway

I saw on OptaJoe (Twitter) that we've had 6 more shots in the league than any other team in April, but we are one of only 2 teams not to score in that time.

We really aren't as bad as some are saying.
      Oh I don't know.

I don't think we are a bad side. Don't get me wrong. I think we have a few issues if we don't get an early goal sometimes. Much like the fans, I think the players start thinking "oh, it's one of those days".

I love our style of play, the way we attack, chances created etc. I still think there are some tweaks that could be made though

One problem we have had for many years is that we don't have enough players in the box. We almost never score on a rebound thanks to that. Very few easy goals.

Yeah, I do share that concern to a point. But... their keeper was pulling out top drawer saves well into injury time this weekend. That's not happened on many occasions when results have gone against us this season, so you could point to it being another incremental improvement.

It is interesting I suppose. This transitional season can be interpreted in just about any way to justify just about any point of view and / or preconception.

Yes. But I think our chances and keeper saves are a lot more clear cut now though I guess. Previous seasons there were a lot of speculative efforts that bumped up our shots on target stats.

Going in the right direction for sure

It was one of those days

Plenty of chances to score but the strikers failed to find the net

The keeper made some good saves but also I feel at time we made life easy for the keeper by putting shots too close to him

The only slightly nagging thing from my point of view is Sturridge.

He's obviously a really good player, but he seems to have disappeared a bit lately. He was pretty anonymous on Saturday. Is he injured still? Is it a loss of form or confidence?

I'm not overly worried, but we need him to add consistency to game his if he's gonna be useful to us. We can't afford to have passengers.

Maybe it's a loss of form brought on by the niggling injuries he had. Seems a bit out of touch and not sure he should be playing wide. Should go through the middle in my view

If we are genuinely after Eriksen, where do you think he will play?

Sturridge should play as the striker and not out wide. He don't have the game intelligence to play out wide.

I have a sneaky that we will sign that goalkeeper.

Maybe. He doesn't even seem to be making the same runs he was when he joined. His movement seems stilted.

I have no idea abot Eriksen. I mean, literelly nothing. I saw there is a thread about it, but I've not been into it.

Rodgers was praising him quite highly. Said he's known of him for a while. Shall we bash him with turning us into a Reading 11?

I think, collectively, we have a weak mentality.

Not sure on the game intelligence bit but he should definitely play through the middle. I think it's more important though to get him fit and find the issue with the niggling injuries he keeps getting. Next season is the aim
