Well I'm guessing that we asked Aspas who his representatives were and negotiated with whoever he told us. What would you prefer he'd done? Said 'who are your agents' and negotiated with someone that they player didn't nominate.

And the fact that we've agreed a deal with Celta would imply they aren't that arsed or they would have pulled the plug.

And to suggest that Ayre did this unilaterally without any legal advice from the cloob (whom I'm guessing said "keep negotiating, mates" is naive in the extreme. Nowt like totally grasping at any chance to peddle an agenda with little concern for the context (which incidentally I salute you for )
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Except that nothing is straight forward because we have no facts on any of this.

Not Ayre's biggest fan myself but I'm certainly not going to take the Mirror's word that he's ballsed this one up or done anything illegal.

The Mirror has written quite a few **** stirring stories and headlines regarding us over the last couple of seasons so you'll forgive me for not taking them as bastions of the great and the good.

Celta confirmed the transfer on their own website and wished the player every success in the Premier league,if they were pissed off about anything they are certainly hiding it well.

I'll wait and see what happens before I get my knickers in a twist.

I'm sure there is a reason why Ayre is negotiating with the 'wrong' agent and continued to do so even when being aware of the fact. Pretty sure there is more to the story than is being reported so far. Maybe Aspas has a dispute with the other agent and went to the new one.. Celta announced the deal so they cant have that much of an issue

Nothing story for me. I know Ayre has his faults but not even he is that stupid

          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Has anyone ever see Ian Ayre and Rick Parry in the same room?

Liverpool-bound Iago Aspas insists he is not being signed to replace Kop idol Luis Suarez

                      14 Jun 2013 22:32

As Reds wait for agent-related hitch to be resolved, Spanish forward says he's looking forward to linking up with the Uruguayan

Iago Aspas is expected to arrive at Liverpool next week, insisting he is not a ‘mini-Suarez’.

The similarities between the two forwards are clear, with the Anfield giants' likely new signing possessing both the skill and explosive personality of the man many reckon he is coming to replace.

Yet 25-year-old Aspas, who will be a £7million capture from Celta Vigo, sees himself as a substitute for no one and believes he is ready to imprint his own unique personality on the Premier League.

“Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I am going there to take an important step in my career, not to be a replacement for anyone,” he said, as the Reds confirmed the deal.

“I think it is time for me to take the next step in my career and Liverpool can help me do that. I have confidence in my ability to move forward and to grow as a player.

“I described the move as emotional for me because it is such a big club and it means I’ve reached another level. But I am calm because I feel I am ready. I want to show that I am capable of playing at the level of this huge club.

“I am excited to be going to England – I want to play in the Premier League. And I hope I will be helped to settle there by all the Spanish speakers at the club... including Luis Suarez.”

Aspas was Celta’s top scorer in La Liga last season, with 12, as they narrowly avoided relegation.

He also created 70 *goal-scoring opportunities – more than either Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi of Barcelona managed.

Just as Suarez has found himself in hot water for his on-pitch behaviour, Aspas does have a fiery temperament - he was banned for four matches last term after head-butting Deportivo defender Carlos Marchena.

Despite Liverpool’s *confirmation of the transfer as they continue their summer rejig, the little forward could still be forced to wait for the deal to be completed - the Spanish federation are retaining his player *registration while a dispute over agent rights is investigated.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
