Speaking at a press conference to say goodbye to the Celta de Vigo fans, Liverpool new boy Iago Aspas stressed that moving to the Premier League was too good an opportunity to turn down and that it would aid his chances of breaking into the Spain squad.
"It was the right time to make the step up to a big club, although Celta will always be the biggest for me. I hope I can come back one day because this is my home. It's a sad and happy day all at once because this is an important step in my career", said an emotional Aspas.
"I am arriving at a new club and it will be the first time I've left home, but I hope it will be a springboard in my career and help me fulfil my dream of one day representing my country", the youngster added.
Aspas revealed that "several clubs" had approached him, including "some" who could offer the prospect of "Europa League or Champions League" football, but he had jumped at the chance to join Liverpool. "I am making one of my dreams come true by joining a big club that has won the European Cup five times", he claimed. "Liverpool was always my first choice".
"Celta is also pocketing a tidy sum for me, as a home-grown player who cost the club nothing, unlike some of my teammates", the Asturian starlet noted.

I work with a Spanish guy & he said it could be very interesting in the premier league , he told me that he has a similair temperament to Bellamy & Suarez and likes to wind players up and isnt afraid to get stuck in...could be fun

Working/playing in a foreign country would normally quieten down the individual. But in this case with their being so many Spanish speakers, he will settle in instantly and those ******* tendencies will no doubt be prominent from day 1 . I can't wait to see him in action...and I am referring to the winding up

He could become an instant legend by 31st August. Can't wait
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
