        Liverpool confirm Alberto signing
        22 June 2013

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Spanish forward Luis Alberto from Sevilla, subject to international clearance.

The 20-year-old has signed a long-term contract after completing his medical at the club's Melwood training base on Saturday.

The forward, who has represented Spain at youth level, has made just nine appearances for Sevilla's first team in all competitions.

But a superb loan spell at Barcelona B, the Spanish club's second side, brought him to Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers' attention.

In his time with the Catalan giants' reserve side last season, Alberto scored 11 goals in 38 appearances, while he also provided 17 assists.

"We are all delighted that Luis has decided to join Liverpool," Rodgers told the club's official website.

"He has the correct footballing profile and mentality to be a Liverpool player.

"I look forward to working with him to develop his talent and he joins a group of young exciting players at our club."

Alberto is the third signing to arrive at Liverpool so far in the off-season, with the youngster to join compatriot Iago Aspas and Ivorian defender Kolo Toure as new arrivals at Anfield.

pretty happy we're getting our first choice players in early. Still need another CB IMO but there's plenty of time for that.

Welcome Luis, if you bring me the joy Garcia did, without the frustrating parts, I'll be well happy!

Except Aspas hasn't actually signed yet. This is our 2nd signing.

He has signed but the mods are keeping control of the welcome thread until they give it the rubber stamp.

Don't really give much **** about this until we've signed some proper first team quality. New shirt looks ace though

i wouldn't take any notice of the number,he will have just been given some shorts and top to do medical in and they just happen to be the first picked up.
                              who's arsed?
