    only 4 points worse off

given that we lost to scum, chavs, arse last year
drew with dads army and beat everton we're only 4 points worse off
than last season add boro to that and a draw seems likely
what we need is to win the rest of the away games to balance it out
    easy

    Easy! Just like that!

I see what you're saying though. The title, however, has absolutely gone; 4th looks likely.

    But that's not good enough.

Arsenal beat Scum and chelsea at home & we win fixture sameday
scum & Chelsea draw both there games v each other & we win fixture same day

thats only 4 pts we would have to catch up ....number 19 here we come

How about we lose at Boro on Saturday and end up 17 points behind.

This is equally likely to happen at the moment.

Boro are ****. If we don't beat them then we might as well pack up.

                  Chronologically...
Last season: GD: 5, Pts: 22
This season: GD: -1, Pts: 17

                  By fixture....
Last season: GD: 9, Pts: 25
This season: GD: -1, Pts: 17

So after 12 games last season we had 5 more points, and of the fixtures we've played we picked up 8 more points last season.

If we can get our act together 2nd is still very possible.

the scum will burn and fade away. no real depth and a heavy reliance on injury prone old timers.

arsenal again don't have much real depth, I mean their bench never looks very strong. No recruits bar TR ...

LFC have a better equiped sq for the rigours of a season and rotation should also reap benefits as the season progresses into the winter, and beyond. As long as it doesn't derail us in the meantime.

There is a real possibility of a 3 way finish for 2nd ( I know that wasn't in the plan) LFC, ars, scum. That's not blind optimisim, it's a long season and "footballs a funny old game" .

As someone has already mentioned, if Rafa can't beat a fella without a coaching badge to his name then we really do have a massive problem.

Got 66/1 at Corals yesterday, so I put a £5 eachway. First 2 places it pay qtr the odds, also keeps the season alive.
