I agree with it being more than just the keeper it hasn't helped we've not managed to field a consistent central defensive partnership for any sort of time but I'm also not sure what we've got is good enough. Crazily our best pairing is probably Lovren & Sakho but that doesn't fill me with confidence

Every keeper he works with seems to go from 'half decent' or 'good potential' to 'bag of spanners' or '****tard' within months of coming in.

Is he any good as a coach? Can't remember if he was here under Rafa...

we all know you cant polish a turd, but it seems that achterburg has managed the exact opposite of it.

I was going to say something similar. I was pleased that he did come out and claim the crosses because that's something that he's not been doing. The pen that he saved wasn't a bad pen it was a really good save. Hopefully this will boost his confidence and he can raise the level he's been playing at.
