Surely we can't go into next season with him as first choice, he is too inconsistent, error-prone, doesn't command his area and his distribution is poor and too slow.

Also he seems really quiet and lacking in confidence which I don't think are good qualities for a GK.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It would be a dereliction of duty if he was the No 1 when there are plenty of alternatives, his weakness under a high crossed ball is just incredible for a keeper with aspirations at the highest level (and a club for that matter).

He's been a lot better the last few months, but was at fault yesterday. What we don't want is his going to pieces with important Europa games coming up.

Has he though? Maybe he just had less to do as the attack improved with the breakthrough of Firmino, Origi and return of Sturridge.

We need a keeper that looks confident and tough enough for this club. Mignolet just looks too nice and a bit nervous.

I've never been Mignolet's biggest fan, but he's clearly been a lot better recently. Had a good first leg in particular against Dortmund.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He has problems with his concentration I think. Had nothing to do before he conceded. Not good enough.
                  Are we winning?

New keeper needed...simple as that..confidence and panic[usually the latter] spreads from the him to others....

Yeah I think that's a big part of it in that the mental side of his game just isn't good enough.

I remember Rafa going on about keepers at top clubs had to concentrate more, they get fewer shots on target but have to save those few shots. Mignolet should be at lower level club.

Thought De G might have been top of the heap.

Surprised De G isn't top of the list.

Every stat I've seen about him backs up what everyone is seeing with their eyes, he's a bit ****. We don't seem to concede many chances yet it often feels like we won't keep a clean sheet. An upgrade on him, no Skrtel ever again and we'll be well away.

Jurgen Klopp’s regular boosts to Mignolet’s confidence might be getting Liverpool’s goalkeeper through to the end of the season without a complete meltdown, but allowing the Belgian to retain his place as Liverpool’s No. 1 goalkeeper beyond the summer would be tantamount to negligence. It’s not an issue of belief or form – he’s just not good enough.

It is Mignolet’s decision-making that leaves most to be desired, highlighted by his vain attempt to claw away the cross from which Papiss Cisse headed Newcastle’s first goal on Saturday. These are mistakes – when made regularly – that you would expect of a novice goalkeeper. Mignolet turned 28 last month.

Of the 30 goalkeepers to start more than five Premier League games this season, Mignolet ranks 27th by save percentage and 29th for save percentage from shots inside the box. Nobody has made more errors directly leading to goals this season, and only four goalkeepers have dropped more crosses.

Liverpool would not necessarily be a top-four club with a more able goalkeeper, but defensive solidity starts from the back and moves forward. Mignolet is leading by poor example, and it’s time for a change.
