He is dreadful. At this level, he is not up to it. I have no doubt he would do a decent job at a mid-table or bottom half of the table team, because they don't play the ball out of defence and being faced with a constant stream of attacks he may pull of a few saves. But the fact is that other than being a reasonable shot stopper all other aspects of his game (kicking, commanding the box, organising the men in front of him) are well below par. But at a club like ours you need to more than one string to your bow. He needs to be cut loose at the first available opportunity.

One of the most nervy, scared ****less keepers i've ever seen. We need much better than him.

Westerveld had a good couple of years before he went to ****. Dudek wasn't bad.

Dudek saved penalties in the champions league final. For that reason alone, he was decent enough in my eyes

Like a lot of the team he seems to be dragged down by the general malaise affecting the team. Last season and even earlier this we saw that he was an excellent shot stopper and a decent all round keeper. He is not the style of keeper I would prefer but he's a lot better than he's playing ATM and certainly better than '****'.

Liverpool: Simon Mignolet has been exposed - Grobbelaar

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is one of the main reasons Liverpool are struggling this season, according to former Reds number one Bruce Grobbelaar.

Grobbelaar, who won six league titles with Liverpool from 1984-1991, believes the Belgian's "weaknesses have been exposed" this season.

The Reds have conceded 18 goals and are 12th in the Premier League table.
Grobbelaar said the 26-year-old's main problem is his lack of authority in his own penalty area.

"He doesn't command his area," the 57-year-old told BBC Sport.

"I've likened Mignolet to worse than Dracula because at least Dracula comes out of his coffin now and then. He seems to stay on his line and that's it. That whole area, not just the six-yard area, is the goalkeeper's."

Goalkeeping legend Peter Schmeichel last month defended Mignolet following criticism from his former Manchester United team-mate Gary Neville.

He accused Neville of a "character assassination" on Mignolet following his performance in the Merseyside derby against Everton.

Liverpool finished second in the Premier League table last season, two points behind champions Manchester City, but the Reds are currently 12th in this season's campaign.

"Any team that lets in 52 [50] goals should never be in second position in the first place," the former Zimbabwe international added.

"That was masked and brushed over because of the brilliance of Suarez and Sturridge, scoring you so many goals.

"You have got to shore up the back. Get yourself someone in goal who can actually only let in 30 goals a season, or fewer than 30 goals."

Coming from a a dodgy keeper who won six titles, I'm not convinced it's the cause of our problems.
