I thought Mignolet was at fault for at least 2 of the goals, admittedly the defending in front didn't help but the first shot went right through him, he almost tried to dive out of the way, the second goal Johnson blocked him on the goal line so he couldn't dive, it was a cluster**** but not really his doing but the third was atrocious, what he was attempting I don't know but he made it so easy and it wasn't good enough. Bad day all over the pitch but the goals they scored were preventable in several areas including goalkeeping

He wasn't great last night but for me the biggest problem was the defence in front of him, too many mistakes left him exposed, his positioning was questionable for Aguero's goal, but I don't think he could have done anything about the others. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Horrendous positioning for the third goal
Comfortably beaten at the near post too for the first goal.
I gave him MOTM against Southampton but I admit he does still worry me. He reminds me a bit of Sander Westerweld. There's some quality there but he's just a bit shaky.
We should have gone for Begovic instead shouldn't we?

Not too late though is it?

There aren't many keepers who would of saved the first goal it was hit so quickly. The much castigated third was pretty much irrelevant as the game was gone at 2-0. I'm all for keepers ****ing up when the game is gone rather than at 0-0. I think he's got much more vocal since the summer. I also think he's trying to catch more crosses. His kicking has also much improved, he kept calm and found our players the majority of the time, there were two occasions he chipped it to the wing and our man was beaten but then it is no different to when a keeper used to punt it downfield, it always becomes a 50/50. Some just want a scapegoat. He won us the 3 points last week with that great save. The defenders in front of him helped lose this game.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. While I agree the positioning was poor for the third, I'm not sure there is much he can do about the first, it is put low by his feet (though his legs in fact) which IMO is just a good finish by the striker. The mistake for that one come from the defence.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostHorrendous positioning for the third goal

Not majorly culpable for the first goal no, although no keeper likes to get beaten at his near post, and it was still saveable with his legs IMO.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostWhile I agree the positioning was poor for the third, I'm not sure there is much he can do about the first, it is put low by his feet (though his legs in fact) which IMO is just a good finish by the striker. Third goal killed the game though and his positioning was just amateurish

Yeah he wasn't great the other day, I watched a bit of it.Originally posted by Chris View PostIs this a grass is greener thing? As he's cost Stoke points in both their games so far.
It might be, he seems to be in a dodgy patch himself, he probably just wants out to be honest.
I guess I'm just voicing my internal thoughts that we might have got the wrong man. I think Rodgers and the staff probably have the same concern to some degree.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Theres defo concerns with his game. I'd love us to offer Valdes a cheap deal and see if he bites, though perhaps signing a 32 year old who's had a massive injury and is reliant on his speed and agility isn't the best idea!Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostYeah he wasn't great the other day, I watched a bit of it.

Begovic is an outstanding keeper that really has stayed at Stoke too long.
