I watched the game with my old man, and while he has become a massive pessimist as he gets older he did suggest that our defence being shaky could well be because they dont fully trust Mignolet behind them. Who knows?
Will be interesting to see, if Valdes does come in, if anything changes. The times they are a changin'.

I didn't see any evidence of that. He came out when he shouldn't have but by then the striker had already slipped though for a one on one, which was soley down to the CBs and the sitting midfielder. He took plenty of crosses comfortably.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Might help if he wasn't playing in front of two ****ing morons. No keeper could play well behind them. He's moaned at for staying on his line and now he's doing the opposite he's coming unstuck. He's claiming crosses better and his kicking is better than last season. If he's still looking dodgy at Christmas it might be time to have a look. All keepers go through tough times no matter who they are. Its just keepers mistakes stand out.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Agree mate. I think it's a bit of both.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostI watched the game with my old man, and while he has become a massive pessimist as he gets older he did suggest that our defence being shaky could well be because they dont fully trust Mignolet behind them. Who knows?

Our CBs - whatever combo we've played over the last 18 months - have been very ropey on the whole. Mignolet is a wonderful shot-stopper and at times looks sound (like when he came out and caught that corner at the end tonight), but he does have a touch of Westerveld about him.
Possibly a trust issue on both sides. On their day our 'keeper and CBs are great. But none are consistant and I'm not sure if Mignolet, Sakho, Lovren and Skrtel are good enough in the long run.
We need to give them time though. It's very early days so far.

To be fair it was a good performance until then but he's never getting there and should never have come. He can see the danger but his reaction to it is wrong. I was pretty impressed with him most of the game, he came and made things his and was vocal while doing it.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI didn't see any evidence of that. I don't know where the bloody problem is be it coaching or players or both but it doesn't seem to matter who we throw at it, we are still a shambles in the central defensive area.
