Mignolet's been doing misjudgements a many since he's been here. I don't trust him.

I've decided very early on that Mignolet wasn't going to be the commanding keeper we needed. Pepe may have had a couple of poor seasons but his reading of the game and positional awareness is far superior to what Mignolet offers. He's let in a few soft goals, but that could have been attributed to his head not being right.
Valdes is similar in style to Pepe, so not sure Brendan made the right decision to get rid of him so quickly. Okay, high wages etc ..., but he's been a legend here. Are we winning?

Goal scoring will come, we started slowly last season too (lots of lucky 1-0s).Originally posted by Kenneth View PostOur main problem is struggling to score against ****e, a mistake by the CBs and keeper really doesn't need to be the focus.
Defensively we should never have to focus on it, whether we're scoring or not. The fact our defence/GK is **** at the moment and rightly getting scrutinised is mutually exclusive to our striking. One tit for another.

This is so true. Belgian keepers, senior management at work, your wife, the neighbour who has recently become more friendly for no discernible reason.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostTrust is overrated. Trust nobody, they'll only **** on your neck
None of them can be trusted, they'll all **** you over in the end. But of all of them, the Walloon shot stoppers are the worst.

It's definitely one part of the problem IMO.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostI watched the game with my old man, and while he has become a massive pessimist as he gets older he did suggest that our defence being shaky could well be because they dont fully trust Mignolet behind them. Who knows?
Will be interesting to see, if Valdes does come in, if anything changes.
1) Is Mignolet's lack of command & docile approach making the CB's nervous?
2) Is the CB's lack of communication and positional sense making the keeper nervous?
3)Is Gerrard's lack of mobility and defensive awareness making the CB's worse?
IMO its a combination of everything. It's a real concern but you have to look at us individually too. So many individual mistakes and lapses in this diamond. If for the time being everyone done their own job and cut out the individual errors, surely with more games.. more continuity and balance would come with?
Or maybe Valdes should come in & Skrtel in? But can we keep changing things at the back. On the plus side the two fullbacks have done very well.Last edited by danperkins; 16-09-14, 11:20 PM.
