Neville has just shredded Mignolet about the goal Everton scored against us. He said his body position was all wrong and that it was a technical error the way he crouched down so low. He even showed a couple of clips from last season where he was also crouched low and should have made the save but didn't. Good analysis if you ask me.

      Phil Neville should know.

      Oh I don't know.

I feel dirty but I agree with Gary Neville , think he is completely right but if it is technique surely it is coaching so John Achterberg should get the bullet and we should get a decent coach and see if Mignolet improves

I'm not sure. That might be least of his problems. Mignolet's decision making on when to come and go is well suspect for me and doesn't appear to have improved. I don't think he's capable of getting that bit right. Having a dodgy keeper is a heartbreak waiting to happen.

I'm only guessing, but maybe Mignolet's starting position is for spring. It's much easier to get height pushing from low down if you're not so light on your toes.

I think it's harsh to blame Mignolet for what was a wonderful strike.

Neville is spot on. Mig is good, just not good enough.

Overall I agree with Neville and Carra, Mignolet isn't good enough, and he should have saved the Negredo shot and also the Ramsey goal, but it seems very harsh to blame him for a wonder strike like that....absolutely wellied and bending away at speed.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Maybe if he was in a better starting position he could have tipped it over. He got to the line of the ball but was just not high enough. Can't blame him but it could have been his moment.

Comparing him to the world's best 'keeper is clearly going to identify fault in Mignolet. De Gea might have a more upright stance, but he struggles to get down low, hence he leads with his feet. It's all about developing the attributes you have; Mignolet needs to rule his box and improve his decision making - the shot-stopping of Mignolet has never really been in question.

His shot stopping has been in question though, certainly after that City game. He is just not up to the level we need and there was a moment on Saturday I wanted to grab him and shake some life into him - when Skrtel was shielding the ball back and expected Mig to be there but he was still on his line. He just hasn't got that dominance in his make up and I expect him to be replaced as soon as January.

After the City game we were talking about his starting position for Aguero's goal. You talk about him dilly-dallying when the ball is in his area. You can see he's rooted to his line more often than not and when you want him to come, he doesn't and when you want him to hold his position, he's charging around like a man possessed.

To me, that indicates a flaw in his positioning and decision making. Whether that's coached or in the process of being 'coached out' (for want of a better expression), I don't know. Bar the odd mistake where he has been caught flat-footed, his shot stopping has been pretty decent.

Gary Neville has analysed that well. As i said on saturday Mignolet should have done better. A good goal keeper saves that.
