Has to be dropped now surely. He's a frightening footballer. Give Karius or Ward a blast, I'd like to see Ward given a chance.

Yes but Mig has proven to be ****. I think Ward seems to have the right mentality (not that i have much to base that on!!)Originally posted by labourRed View PostThe problem with Karius is he's not quite ready either, and may never be up to scratch. Ward is a bit too unproven as well._____________________________________

IF we are dropping Mig, then Karius should be next in line to lose the spot IMO. Karius is playing CL, Ward is playing Cups, seems obvious to me how the pecking order is.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostKarius is clearly not good enough. He barely makes saves - Mignolet is a better bet than him unfortunately.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Well that might be the way its set up, I just have real problems with it. Karius is completely unconvincing, and isn't as good as Mignolet.
I like Ward, have watched him in the SPL and have liked what I've seen of him for the admittedly limited opportunities he's had at Liverpool - but I'm not convinced he's the answer either.
Money needs to be spent - there's no getting away from it. New keeper, new centre backs and a new mentality on defending. The system doesn't work.

How many times have we come back into this thread saying the same old stuff. Mig could have a man of the match performance in the next game and then be at fault for goals in the next few games. It's the same oul **** again and again. Just get a top keeper in ffs, Mig would be a good back up keeper.
For the time being surely Ward is due a shot? Karius looks nowhere near good enough.

You can't just bin a keeper after he makes one mistake or even if he makes them a couple of times a season, all keepers do that. For me the problem with Mignolet is that he is making the same mistakes frequently, and they are the same mistakes he was making 4 years ago. While there has been improvement which has resulted in good patches of form he hasn't been consistent enough to keep that up and become a better player. He is probably still the best GK we have (slightly ahead of the other two) but he's not going to improve the other two should do. Personally I think that Ward is the better prospect, but I am sure that Karius is next in lineThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That should tell you something. Keepers make mistakes, and people only really pay attention when they do. If we had one 1-0 yesterday then it would have been Lloris that ****ed up and cost spurs points by staying on his line. For the weak clearance we had the keeper and CB jumping for the same ball which lead to the goal, we assume that was Mig's fault but if he called for the ball then it was Matip's fault. Without that one incident we wouldn't be focusing on the keeper at all after that game.Originally posted by danperkins View PostHow many times have we come back into this thread saying the same old stuff. I agree that his general level isn't sufficiently good, and maybe Ward could cement a place and it is probably worth trying soon, but not Karius, he's the worst of the 3 on evidence to date.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Mignolet is our best keeper in the fact that Ward is young and an unknown quantity. Karius won't make it here IMO.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostThat should tell you something. Lloris to be fair though is a top class goalkeeper, someone like him, De Gea or Courtois would make an incredible difference to our backline IMO. Of course keepers make mistakes, it's the toughest position to play in but Mig is just not good enough for us if we have any intentions of pushing forward as a club. I don't think he is helped by the **** in front of him but at the same time I don't think they are helping by him being so erratic & also I don't think the defence is being helped by such a powder puff midfield. It's just a bad combination all round.
Lovren cost us that game yesterday regardless of Mig's error. The whole team was shot to **** after the first 5 mins. We had a 10 min spell but apart from that we were ****e.

The problem is that there aren't very many top class keepers, it's a very hard position to fill even by spending lots of money. And then we have to find one that wants to play for us instead of a successful team. It's not simply a case of 'make keeper a priority' / 'buy an established top class keeper' because the ones that do exist want to play for top class clubs and most already do.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
