Both are clearly sub standard but I haven't seen anything to suggest that Karius is a better GK than Mig. Not really sure how anyone else has either to be honest.

On the distribution thing, he was clearly bowling it out much faster at the weekend than Ming ever does. It's the one positive that stands out clearly to me... plus he's quite a bit better with his weaker foot than Ming. It's not much, to go on though. Both are really weak, but Karius has age on his side and hasn't really had a solid run with the shirt... mind you, neither has Ward!

He looks pretty sharp here, particularly in 1 on 1 attacks. It's interesting to have another look at this.

I think Mignolet is a better keeper than Karius.

What Mignolet did in the very recent games to be dropped -there was the Xaha goal at Arsenal I suppose.

yea could be, i also think Mignolet has been written off and will definitely be moved on. which is also fair enough, his time has come I think.

I see the opportunity for Karius as his final chance, I think its also likely he gets moved on but that Klopp just wants to take one more proper look at him before deciding definitively.

I have to say I've always liked him since his first game. He brings something refreshing to the team... a bit of a modern day goalkeeping edge.

Yes, he has made a few mistakes, but **** me, he's young, new league, been castigated by the Neville cunt bros and yet his Bournemouth performance is still the only game I believe he has cost us.

With regards to the Sane goal, our defence should have never let him get that close to the goal. He just blasted it from 5 yards out but yes keeper should have done better.

Does he really though? Can't say I've really seen this in action. He seems to have the same eyes closed punt down field that Mig employs and sometimes taps it to a full back, but this isn't really noteworthy and doesn't appear to give us a big advantage.

Mignolet takes an age to give the ball. The crowd are always moaning and groaning when another opportunity to give it quick goes flying by

However as an all round package I dont think theres much between the two keepers

Karius does not know when to stick or twist - he looks completely out of his depth when it comes to decision making - by the time he's decided whether to stay on his line or come out it's usually too late. This should be part instinct and part coaching but it seems has neither.

Neither keeper has confidence, which is a massive part of being a top goalie - not helped by the constant switching of 1st choice or a rocky indecisive defense in front of them.

Given his age I would keep Karius, bin Sim and as a priority find a decent onion bag coach.

I think (a) Klopp HAS been thinking about a new keeper because (b) he has decided Mig is not good enough and (b) he THINKS Karius is probably not good enough either. So, as he can't buy who he wants this window, he has decided to give Karius a run so that he can take a decision about him. I don't think Klopp views him as better than Mig, merely that he doesn't think he is worse so there is no harm giving him a run.

Ward must be bloody awful.
