Brilliant... hopefully by the end of the week we'll know more about the Suarez situation too. **** all this lost in translation stuff, i'd want to hear exactly what he has to say so we know where we stand.

Little frustrating that we dont have any quality oppositions. We haven't won our first league game in 8 seasons was it? Surely we want to go in hot and get a good start to build confidence and all...

Celtic isn't too bad of a game but I do agree a little bit, 2 games of that standard would probably go a long way.

Really looking forward to this, lets just keep expectations realistic in pre season and not have a meltdown if we lose or draw at PNE.

If we lose or draw at PNE then FSG must sack Rodgers. In fact they must do it even if we win. Especially if we win.

Or they must sell the club. To Louis Van Gaal.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

i just started to plan going to preston game haha - but realised that I am at a stag do that weekend!

who the hell organises a stag do on the first pre-season game!

Any way - we've had a good pre-pre season , or close season so far we've a few new signings already.

Hopefully we can sort the Suarez situation swiftly now the Confeds is over.

                        roughly 2 months too

keep suarez/sell him and sign a replacement
                        sign a top centre half
                        sign a top centre mid

and if i am being greedy get this mkhyirtan and a left back in

Liverpool players return for pre-season training
By This Is Anfield on July 1, 2013
Liverpool FC begin their pre-season training this week, with those players who haven’t been involved in internationals this summer starting back at Melwood on Tuesday.

They’ll be joined by four new signings; Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto and Simon Mignolet.

The Reds kick-off their pre-season matches against Preston in just under two weeks time, before heading to Asia and Australia a week later. They then play friendlies closer to home in Norway and Ireland, with Steven Gerrard‘s testimonial at the start of August.

New signing Luis Alberto tweeted his view as he arrived in the city on Sunday afternoon.

Aug 3rd – Steven Gerrard Testimonial vs Olympiakos – Anfield (12:45pm)

Bit thin schedule IMO, that testimonial is not a proper friendly either is it?

                              - only really what you would call two "proper" friendlies. I can't see us fielding much of a side against preston - and there will be a lot of rotation on the 'tour' against those three teams

i'd imagine valerenga and celtic would be better games to watch

however nowadays these guys play a lot of .football - many will have been involved in some sort of football over the summer anyway and they will all keep fit during there two/three week holiday period any way

it's not like the pre probably 2000's where players turn up two stone overweight for preseason
