Yep there's always been "behind closed doors" friendlies, almost always designed to give certain players a bit more match practice.

I always reckoned closed door games meant the club don't have money/time to arrange police, media, fans, etc, but want to give vital match situation to certain players. Makes sense.

Sturridge I'll have to change my FF team and get him in ASAP now. Thought he wouldn't be sharp for a few games but was slick against Celtic and now apparently.
