It is, but we can actually attract the kids.

****ing joke of a club, what a massive waste of time and money on this lad and he's not even been given a chance, ridiculous.

Reminds me a little of how people were talking about Coates a couple of years ago and he clearly wasn't/isn't as good as people thought.

Loads of top clubs sign promising youngsters who don't quite make the grade, hell just look at Chelsea's loaned list. Sure £7m was quite an expense on a player who has never seen the first team squad (we've had a few of those of late, Alberto springs to mind) but we have absolutely no evidence whatsoever that he has done anything in pre-season etc to push himself up the pecking order and a loan, with a fee, is surely better than him just sitting in the reserves for another season?
I thought he did OK last season. Wasn't he a regular starter until he got a bad injury, and managed to the the place back towards the end of the season?

              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Does the option to buy mean if they want him at the end we have to sell? If not, I don't see what the big deal is? It'll do him good.

Generally selling clubs dont have a mechanism to stop the option to buy

Only the player or the loaning club can do that

How do we know this without giving him a chance???

As far as I can remember he hasnt played 1 single minute in the first team in any kind of meaningful game

Well how did we know Richie Partridge wasn't good enough? Or Krisztian Nemeth? Or any of the hundreds of other players, young and not so young, who have come and gone at Anfield without ever playing much?

Surely we have to assume that the club have seen enough in training / pre season to be able to come to a more educated judgement than anyone else? It isn't as if Rodgers is scared of playing youngsters, so is it not logical to think that in this case the coaching staff just don't think he's ready to break through at our level, if he ever will be?

What tale shall serve me here among
                      Mine angry and defrauded young?

Are we seriously claiming that Rodgers and Co's judgement is "educated"

I'll see your Richie Partridge and raise you a Dejan Lovren

There is a difference though. Richie Partridge never managed to perform at the level Illori or Alberto already had when we bought them (by that I mean first team appearances in European leagues and U21 internationals) , even if you ignore the money invested in them.

That's not to say Rodgers is obligated to play expensive young players regardless of their performance in training, but it does mean that bigger questions are posed when they move on than a Richie Partridge.

Nemeth is a bit different but injuries played the biggest part in that.

I swear down our transfer spend over the past years reminds me of this.
