I think the people some people have is they think (rightly?) it is better to put the majority of our funds on players who can improve the team right now rather than several years down the line.

of course there could always be the odd exception to this, such as when we steam in for will hughes.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

A loan would be good. It makes perfect sense if thats the case. We signed aging Toure for the here and now and Toure won't be around forever then we'll bring in this lad. Once we are in Europe again there will be opportunities. Sakho, Agger, Skrtel and Llori

The plan was always to have him for six months and then loan him. I don't get what people are going on about. Having people at the club while they are young is crucial as they can be moulded into what we want. Leaving him at Sporting would have been dangerous as he may not have developed and lost his way.

Just because he's no in the first team it doesn't mean he's not learning. He needed to come here now so he could see what he needs to do going forwards.

Agger were in Liverpool for more than six months - and had only a few glimpses of the firt team. He did his training in the gym - got some strength and came into the team (and started to get injured). Ilori will learn a similar way - now we are only stronger in the defensive part, so he will have some more time to adapt to Liverpool.

Played really well tonight. A few mistakes but then he's a 20 year old who's barely ever played a professional game. Very encouraging.

Yep, sure did. The stuff about his pace is true, he's ridiculously quick. Good on the ball aswell. Hopefully he's got the defensive skills to go with it, a decent start tonight.

Very encouraging and should he progress, will help us keep a high line and press the **** out of teams.

Suso, Coutinho and Alberto make sense alright!

Looks like he went to a good team to develop, he'll be quite a busy man. He seems to be able to pass the ball a bit.

                              He looks a big lad.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
